The Solution to Election Fraud? Apparently, Ignore It
The Liberty Belle
by C. McMasters Ph.D.

Try something. Type “election fraud and the courts” into google and see what you find. You’ll see a bunch of articles discussing a bunch of attempted court cases to review the legitimacy of the past election. You’ll see that almost every single one of these appeals was shot down by the courts. In fact, of the 57 cases filed to various courts, 50 of them were struck down before ever being heard. I don’t know about you, but my personal take on this is simple: it’s quite fishy. Why not hear the case? At least all of the accusations made against Trump and his election win were heard either in cou ..read more

COVID Relief Bill: Hold the Correct Government Responsible
The Liberty Belle

Before reading further, I challenge everyone to go take a look at the new COVID relief bill I reference here. Here’s the link. It’s 5,593 pages long, so good luck reading the whole thing. It’s astonishing to me how flippant our legislators have become when writing law. Law is no small things. It’s law. It’s the reason for government in the first place. We have government because we need someone to create and enforce laws so that humanity doesn’t devolve into total chaos and anarchy. Here’s thing though. Our country was created with governments confined by “realms” or “spheres of power”. In ot ..read more

The Fine Line Between Anarchy and Tyranny

“Give all the power to the many, they will oppress the few. Give all the power to the few, they will oppress the many. ” — Alexander Hamilton I’m listening to a biography of Alexander Hamilton right now, (which is fascinating btw; click here if you’re interested in getting the book for yourself.) and I love the way the author explains the theoretical struggle Hamilton faced. This was a struggle that was a bit unique to Hamilton, and is unique to America. Hamilton’s inner turmoil beautifully mirrors America’s lifelong inner turmoil. So, if you want a little history lesson and a peak into one o ..read more

The Courts, the Coronavirus and the Election
The Liberty Belle
by C. McMasters Ph.D.

Have you noticed how significant the courts have been to politics recently? It seems like every major political issue hinges on either the Court or courts. (By Court, I mean the Supreme Court, courts means all other federal or state courts along with the Supreme Court.) The Constitutionality of coronavirus lockdowns? The courts. The legitimacy of the election? The courts. The punishment for law enforcement accused of racially motivating killing? The courts. Recently, society increasingly seems to perceive the courts as the final “court” of review (pun intended). The courts are the final stop ..read more

"Maybe Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas...perhaps...means a little bit more!" – Theodor Seuss Geisel, How the Grinch Stole Christmas Merry Christmas Friends! Today is Christmas. I hope that you are all taking time to remove yourselves from the angst of politics and enjoying this special time of year. How special is it that almost all of us are celebrating today? Did you know that 90% of Americans celebrate Christmas? That means that right now, today, you and I—along with 300,000,000 fellow Americans—are stopping to celebrate Christmas. What other day in Amer ..read more

I figured I’d use today to give y’all a little civics lesson about presidential proclamations and executive orders, especially since our current president just used an executive order to establish Christmas Eve a national holiday this year. Before I start though, if you are interested in researching all presidential proclamations for yourself, you can click this link here, or for executive orders, click here, which will take you to the Federal Registrar where you can look at each president and each proclamation or executive order they’ve ever declared. One: The Constitution, Proclamations and ..read more

Everyone Is Guilty

I came across an article today, entitled “Committee Recommends Changing Name Of Abraham Lincoln High School Because He Allegedly Didn’t Prove Black Lives Matter”. I don’t usually venture into the social/racial sphere of things, but when I read this, something snapped in me and I knew I had to take to the keyboard. The article’s second paragraph says, “Lincoln is among dozens of figures who the school district renaming committee argues led a life filled with racism and therefore shouldn’t be on a school building, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.” When I read that, I was struck by some ..read more

Three Kinds of "Rights"
The Liberty Belle
by C. McMasters Ph.D.

The idea of a “right” is just that, an idea. So, political scientists and philosophers have created, defined and re-defined what they see as three categories of “rights”. I’m not going to get into a discussion about my own thoughts about these “rights” so much as arm you with this information so that you can understand and grasp what America is dealing with today. One: Political-Civil Rights For most of America’s history, Americans have cherished and fought for political-civil rights. These rights were the impetus for the Revolutionary War and were the rights that most American social movemen ..read more

What Is YOUR Theory?
The Liberty Belle
by C. McMasters Ph.D.

My Wednesday posts typically revolve around theory in some form or fashion. Today, though, I don’t want to talk about my theory or the theory of our founders or the liberal philosophers before them. Today, I want to talk about YOUR theory. What is your theory? Have you ever thought about your own theory before? I mean really thought about it? Most people don’t even bother to know other people’s theory, not to mention their own theory. And yet, we all have a theory, a belief about how the world works, how it ought to work, and why, but most of us couldn’t really articulate that theory if given ..read more

The Constitution for Dummies: Article 5
The Liberty Belle

“The Constitution of the United States was made not merely for the generation that then existed, but for posterity- unlimited, undefined, endless, perpetual posterity.” — Henry Clay The U.S. Constitution was written in 1787 and formally ratified in 1789. That’s around 230 years ago. The world and this country have changed dramatically since then. While there are many aspects to the American government and the U.S. citizenry that have changed, there is one constant: We still need something to protect us and our private property from government. For 231 years, that something has been the Consti ..read more
