Teaching about Pokemon cards
Days of the Dad
by Tyler Boyden

Hey everyone! It’s been a little while and I’ve been a busy bee. As you can tell from the title and photo, my Pokemon passion has reignited! Yes, I was one of those kids that played with trading cards on the bleachers at school. While getting back into the Pokemon craze I want to help others along the way. What Pokemon cards are rare? How can anyone can tell the rarity of a card? How much are my old cards worth? What are GX, VMAX or secret rare cards? These are just some of the questions that I’ll be answering across my social media and especially on my TikTok page (@tylerboyden) as well as ..read more

Teaching Your Child Resilience in 2020
Days of the Dad
by Tyler Boyden

Resilience is the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties, or toughness. It’s the stuff heroes are made of and is something I hope every parent can show their kid(s) during these times. With all the chaos, fear and social distancing happening we need to be able to teach our children how to be resilient in the face of difficult times. The question then is how can we teach our children resilience? The glass of water is only half full if you see it that way. The first thing I want to stress when helping children through any hardship is perspective. Teaching them how to look at situations f ..read more

Practices to follow for potty training a child
Days of the Dad

Potty training can be one of the most difficult and hair pulling experience for parents. Having the information on what to expect will really ease one’s mind so here’s some help. The first thing that I want to relay to parents is that infants have a reflex, called the gastrocolic reflex, that makes them have a bowl movement. As I’m sure most parents realize, most infants seem like they’re on a timer after they eat. After about 20 minutes pass there’s almost always a stinky surprise for mom and dad. (Oh, and if you decide to formula feed or have to do such then the stink will be a little wors ..read more

Why parents shouldn’t fear their child getting on TikTok
Days of the Dad

The TikTok app is one of the hottest apps for people to upload, up to one minute, videos as well as pictures for the world to see. This app in my opinion has cleaned up quite a bit compared to when it first debuted. This is no longer an app just for the youth and has blossomed into a beautiful space to show off your art, smarts, photography, talents and well “you.” Make sure to add me if you’re on there, @DaysoftheDad I post parenting tips and other fun videos! I’ll admit it, I was one of the people growing up that thought people using social media so much were crazy. I thought that they had ..read more

So for those of you that follow me on social media you’ll know last Tuesday I posted about a special moment that happened to my family. Well I didn’t think that was enough praise so here’s a blog post too! On February 4, 2020 my fiancee, Bruce and I were at Wal-Mart shopping for his first birthday party. We had been planning it for the last two months and were getting the final things before his big day arrived. We made sure to get a banner, balloons (including a special #1 balloon), streamers, a helium tank and the rest of the decorations to make the theme his favorite show: Charlie’s Color ..read more

DaysoftheDad is excited to say that last year “babies” had their own category on Google Trends due to the amount of searches performed! For those of you that don’t know about Google Trends as of yet please let me explain what it has to offer just in case it’s something you might enjoy like me. Google Trends shows the rising/top search topics/queries that are being ran through Google.com. I know as a blogger this has helped me a ton when I need to find great keywords to use, or if I just need something popular to write about I can see what’s currently trending. For instance, from just two min ..read more

Figuring out those first steps: What a father needs to know about teaching kids to walk
Days of the Dad

Those first milestones for your child can be some of the most exciting that’s for sure! Their first words, first solid food, first time they crawl leading up to those, oh so important, first steps. Parenting can be one of the rewarding positions in life since we get the mind-blowing chance to see a human being learn everything for the very first time. I know I’m one of those dads that just can’t wait for his little boy to start walking around so that we can do all sorts of fun things together and explore the world. I’ve found since being a parent that a lot of fathers are like this today. No ..read more

Five Great Tips for Parents when Changing a Diaper
Days of the Dad
by Tyler Boyden

I know for most parents like me changing a diaper can be a nightmare. It’s not only due to the rancid smell these little angels somehow make, but more often than not it’s because they just don’t stay still during the diaper change. Toddlers getting their diapers changed can squirm more than a worm avoiding the hook. My fiancee has had many occasions where our son has just been too much so she had to go rinse him off in the tub. I figured if we’re having this much trouble than the other parents out there must be going through the same struggle. Bellow DaysoftheDad has come up with 5 great ti ..read more

Brain Bytes Academy: Programming Paradise and Award Winning Learning Center in New Jersey
Days of the Dad

DaysoftheDad has been following Brain Bytes Academy in New Jersey for a while now and I LOVE all that they offer the New Jersey community! As a child from projects I didn’t always get the latest tech to play with growing up, but I have always had a passion for tinkering with things. My mother would get so mad at me for taking apart the toys my siblings had just to see how they worked. She still tells the story of when I took apart my sister’s toy computer as a four year old, leaving the pieces scattered all over the place. So learning about and participating in Lego Robotics my 6th and 7th gr ..read more
