Last week we had planned to go for a hike for Emily and Derek’s engagement photos in Kananskis but our plans were threatened with reports of a tornado forming in the Calgary area in late afternoon. Emily, Derek and their dog Peyto spend all of their weekends adventuring and luckily for me they were still up for the hike once the weather advisory lifted.
They showed me their secret waterfalls beyond the well known Troll Falls and we had the place all to ourselves. We chased waterfalls, ran into a bear, a fox, several deer and other Canadian Rockies wildlife. Fortunately no tornados ..read more

An unforeseen consequence of the limited international travel this year has been a distinctly less busy Banff National Park. The crown jewel of the park is usually packed but on this particular July evening Kim and Riley had Moraine Lake virtually to themselves for their engagement photos.
