I was lucky enough to have a relatively ‘text book’ twin pregnancy with three extremes of trimesters. My first being full of excitement, fear, anxiety, disbelief and last but not least (as is common with multiple pregnancies)- the dreaded nausea. Whilst a sign of a healthy pregnancy (some might say), it left me sofa-bound and feeling very sorry for myself, indeed. For an active and busy person running a home and a business...Work? Are you kidding, eating? Er.. No thanks, even bread made me want to vomit. What was I actually thinking getting into this? My second trimester was nothing but a dre ..read more

Issy and Baby Tasi’s Beautiful Hypnobirthing Story I had Tasi at 38 weeks on Sunday the 15th April 2018 at 6:09pm. During my pregnancy I was very committed to my Hypnobirthing Australia practice and towards the end of my pregnancy I really listened to the tracks as much as I could. Even if I couldn't listen to them lying down I would have them on in the background while I was cooking, sorting baby's things or around the house. I took every opportunity thinking positive thoughts and imagining my birth. My midwife was amazing and understanding my wishes of a hypnobirth, it helped being a part of ..read more

Hi Katie, My entire labour from first surge to the moment I met my baby girl (after not knowing the gender) was 41 hours in length. Without the hypnosis and breathing techniques I practiced so hard during my pregnancy I am not sure how I would have coped with such little sleep and extreme exhaustion. On Thursday 21st of feb I had acupuncture done in the morning and that afternoon at 3pm I had my first surge. I had been having Braxton Hicks through my entire third trimester but it’s true “when it’s real you’ll know”. At this point they were between 7-15 minutes apart and extremely manageable, I ..read more

At 7:45 pm in the evening, my waters broke whilst I was on the lounge not sure if I had actually just wet myself or if this was the real deal. My husband Jeremy got some towels and helped me. It felt like a constant slow running tap. As I made my way to the bathroom just sitting there in shock wondering is this the moment I have been waiting for? Jeremy got emotional and we called all the appropriate people on our list. My contractions started roughly 30 minutes later we put on a good comedy movie (chick flick of course) and as I straddled a dining room chair my husband did some light touch ma ..read more

THE QUANTUM FIELD OF BIRTH

This month I have been asked to write an article for the Holistic Living Magazine on the topic of manifestation and it has come at the perfect timing for me after returning recently from an Advanced Retreat with none other than Dr Joe Dispenza. After spending 7 days with him, I honour him as a walking master and certainly a gentleman at the top of the manifestation game as a world teacher. After sitting in meditation most days at the retreat for at least 6 hours and receiving many downloads and clarifications from the quantum field, I am pleased to share in this article what I have come to kno ..read more

Successful drug free natural VBAC delivery of; Goldie Florence de Villiers Winter Solstice baby - 21/06/18 Background: 1st baby - October 2015 -Stuck my head in the sand, went with a private OB at a private hospital thinking I was doing the right thing. Got told he was a big baby with a large head and I would “probably end up in emergency anyway” so I should book in for an elective. Honestly I was so terrified of birth and labour that he was probably right, so my son was born at 38+3 required resuss for 3 minutes, he was not at all ready to come out and I felt terrible and traumatised by the ..read more

Reclaiming mother's and birth in the modern birth space!

Me pictured here with fellow Hypnobirthing Australia practitioners Kathryn Bell and Kerry-Louise Sutcliffe at a powerful event in Sydney , raising awareness for human rights in childbirth. My experience as a mother, doula and childbirth educator over the last ten years has revealed to me that there is still a tremendous amount of fear and disempowerment that surrounds pregnancy and childbirth. Women are persistently flooded with images of difficult and painful birth scenarios via the media, where birthing mothers are often portrayed as “out of control”, helpless and in need of drugs and docto ..read more

Moving from fear to powerful love in childbirth...how the history of childbirth has shrouded life
Harmonic Hypnobirthing

There is no greater experience of the human condition where the topic of fear and anxiety generates as much illumination and consideration. Childbirth is invariably synonymous with fear and anxiety, whether it is in identifying fears, eliminating fears, or in the embrace and integration of fears. Understanding that the powerful portal of childbirth can generate a diverse range and level of fears and anxieties for women as they approach childbirth is vital to knowing how we as a society can support women to have a more confident and positive experience of birth. There is a reason childbirth has ..read more

The experience of childbirth inherently has the potential to be joyful, ecstatic profoundly connective, and it has the power as a rite of female passage to transform and enhance women’s lives indelibly. When childbirth is mentioned in most circles, the common initial reaction is the notion that it is an intensely painful and stressful event and that a woman should do everything in her power to simply “get through it “. This is largely due to the influence of Western media where pregnant and birthing woman are most often portrayed as “ out of control” helpless and in need of a doctor and drugs ..read more

Pregnancy and birth is a sacred spiritual journey and its inherently receptive nature is an opportunity for mother’s to tune in and receive love from a huge field of energy. This field of energy flows all the way from source through the mother’s very own soul light essence, and encompasses the unconditional loving energy from the father as well as the unique and loving energy signature of their baby that is bonded with them in body mind and spirit. In our modern society, there is not enough attention or acknowledgement given to the transformative nature of pregnancy and childbirth. By embraci ..read more
