Crochet Striped Mesh Stitch Blanket
Daisy Farm Crafts

This beautiful blanket was made by me almost seven years ago and is still one of my favorite designs. It is made with the classic mesh stitch, which is a simple repeat of single crochet and chain one. The shell border just adds the finishing touch.  I’m re-sharing this pattern today because somehow a lot of spam crochet accounts on Facebook have shared this photo of this blanket without sharing a link to the pattern. I’ve done my best to get the pattern to as many people as I can, but decided to just re-share it here on our site so it is on the front page and easy for people to find.&nbs ..read more

Crochet Diamond Weave Throw
Daisy Farm Crafts

I have had so much fun making this Diamond Weave Throw the past few weeks! It’s a blanket I’m happy to have had on my lap to watch grow. I absolutely love the texture! I also love that it was an easy and relaxing throw to make. It looks so complicated to make, but isn’t.  This is a variation of a blanket I made for baby Nora in velvet, that my sister Cyndi then made in Bernat Bundle Up. I had a feeling the texture of the ribbing stitches would show up better in Bundle Up versus the velvet, so I was delighted to see her make it.  And that got me thinking of what if I reversed the di ..read more

Have you ever picked up a skein of Bernat Softee Cotton and then wondered what to make with it? Sometimes I work backward like that too. I see the yarn and then decide what to make with it.  Today’s post is a roundup of 20 free patterns we have made using Bernat Softee Cotton or as it is also labeled Bernat Softee Baby Cotton. There is no difference in the yarn, only the color choices available.  The darker, more “adult” looking colors are in the Bernat Softee Cotton line, and more pastels and softers colors are in the Softee Baby Cotton line. The yarn is a 3 weight, cotton and polye ..read more

Crochet Crumpled Griddle Stitch Gingham Blanket

I always get very excited when I find two shades of the same color that I can pair with white or cream to create a beautiful gingham blanket.  These two shades of grey in the Caron Simply Soft line of yarn are perfect for gingham. For years, Caron Simply Soft line of yarn only had one shade of grey, the darker shade. A few years ago, the Feathered Grey, or lighter shade was introduced at Joanns, but only for a limited time and then it was discontinued.  Luckily, the team at Yarnspirations was able to bring Feathered Grey back, for another limited run and have it available as a speci ..read more

Now that I’m a Grandma of two little girls, I’m searching for dress and sweater patterns to crochet. I’d like to share with you what I have found on the Yarnspirations website.  I have a quick and easy list of 30 patterns for you to scroll through. When I look at these older and vintage patterns, I’m imagining what they might look like in modern colors and newer yarns.  My favorite yarn for clothes is Bernat Bundle Up or Bernat Softee Cotton. Those yarns give me an option for patterns made with a 4 weight or 3 weight and make a great substitute for regular acrylic yarns.  There ..read more
