A feral cat taken in by a Pleasantville homeowner has tested positive for rabies. It is the third confirmed case in Atlantic County this year. The cat appeared ill and was taken in by a homeowner in the 100 block of Bayview Avenue, officials said. An animal control officer collected the cat Friday, with state lab testing confirming rabies Thursday. An investigation by the Atlantic County Division of Public Health found five other cats in the home that may have been exposed. The homeowner is receiving post-exposure rabies treatment. Atlantic City mayor announces $26M Boardwalk improvements

“We are extremely excited to announce the rebuilding of the greatest Boardwalk in the world,” Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small said Tuesday. The $20 million awarded to the city as part of Gov. Phil Murphy’s $100 million Boardwalk Preservation Fund will be used to fix the famous wooden way from New Jersey to Tennessee avenues.  The citys’ is the largest grant under the funding, along with Asbury Park. Man at center of EHT standoff jailed for not turning over guns

An Egg Harbor Township man who sparked an hours-long standoff in November is back in jail after weapons were found in his home, police said. Joseph Dill, 42, barricaded himself inside his home Nov. 30, for nearly 12 hours, after allegedly firing rounds while yelling at his neighbors. A woman called police at 3:37 a.m. that day, claiming a man was breaking her porch lights and attempting to gain entry into her residence by kicking her front door. Grant means full STEAM ahead for Atlantic City Boys & Girls Club

The Atlantic City Boys and Girls Club will continued their STEAM education thanks to a grant from the Arman Roy Foundation. The $33,880 grant will serve about 200 students ages 6 to 18 at the club’s Drexel Club and Teen Center, where the STEAM lab is located. It will pay for educators to guide members in completing projects with Lego building, 3D printing, circuitry coding, drone education, and a STEAM Fair.
