I’ve been shopping with Erstwilder for over a decade and over the years, I’ve loved watching the brand grow, expand, being one of their models and of course, seeing the stunning jewellery pieces they release. Erstwilder, and similar jewellery brands such as Deer Arrow and Lipstick and Chrome, release a fair amount of collections every year and with each collection, there are always pieces that sell out at lightning speed (Pete Cromer anyone?). After every release, I always get so many messages asking me how I manage to get the pieces I wanted and if I have any tips for shopping come release da ..read more

Yes yes yes, I know I just posted about this pattern literally a month ago but there is method in the madness. If you remember back to this post, I discussed going down south to the lovely town of Denmark and spending a weekend alone in a gorgeous little cabin in the woods where I just took time out and did some sewing. I thought about sewing three garments but I found that two was more than enough and I spent my final night just enjoying the fireplace and watching movies. On my second evening, I decided to sew using the Simplicity X Lisette 1419 again but create an alternative finish.

There’s nothing quite like a holiday; a chance to take a break, explore, indulge and get away from the daily grind. Unfortunately, like most good things, they are over too soon and it’s back to reality at the blink of an eye. Coming home from a holiday can often lead to the ‘post-travel blues’, a bit of a depressive state after the high and euphoria of a holiday. This post-travel blue can be really difficult to manage so after many years of dealing with it, I wanted to share a few things you can do to help you beat them.
Note: In a previous blog we have discussed the ‘glitter crash‘ which is b ..read more

It’s basically impossible to travel through South Korea and not pick up some kbeauty products; as one of South Korea’s biggest exports, kbeauty has been around for a while and has continued to be a world leader in skincare innovation. I’ve been using kbeauty products for well over a decade at this point and some of my earliest social media, YouTube and blog posts were about kbeauty. On a recent trip to South Korea, I absolutely went nuts on getting all the skincare I’ll ever need in my life and came home with quite the haul. I’ve always wanted to do a kbeauty haul from South Korea and due to t ..read more

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that if you’re travelling through South Korea whilst a beauty product is going viral, you will buy it just because. This became a reality for me when I was in South Korea earlier this year and the Kahi Wrinkle Bounce Balm was going viral and became quite the task to track down. I had seen this balm on Kdramas long before I even reached Korea so I knew it was a beauty product I was really wanting to find and test out. We struck out on Jeju in Busan but and eventually found it in Seoul after a visiting a few Olive Young’s.

Sometimes as a sewing enthusiast, you find the perfect pairing between fabric and sewing pattern. This is one of those times. Within my fabric stash, I have some fabrics that have had a pre-assigned sewing pattern to them and it’s really just a matter of time before I get around to sewing them. I’ve been so focused on projects both at my day job and for my channel that I haven’t really had time to sew something just for myself because it’s a combination I love and not a fully fleshed out project. I am trying really hard to take some time out for myself and sew things just for the joy of sewing ..read more

One of the most iconic ball gown styles from the 1950s is the cupcake gown; generally named due to the ruffles adorning the dress, this ball gown style was very popular for special occasions such as proms, weddings and evening dresses. Today, cupcake gowns are still highly sought after and something a lot of vintage clothing collectors hunt for. The cupcake style is iconically unique to the 50s and has a soft youthful vibe and something I’ve always had a soft spot for yet never really owned. In an attempt to further expand my sewing skills, I figured it was time to create my own cupcake gown a ..read more

Here I am again, outing myself on the internet with my disgusting makeup bag. I’m on a bit of a decluttering, redecorating and deep cleaning binge where I go around my house and deep clean, reorganise and decorate certain things in my house. One such item that I’ve been wanting to deep clean for ages is my makeup pouch. I have owned this Paul and Joe pouch for well over a decade I’m pretty sure at this point and I will be honest and say I’ve only washed it once since I’ve owned it. Well, today we give it a deep clean and I wanted to share the process just incase someone else also needs to push ..read more

Earlier in the year, I was in beautiful Singapore with a friend. If you’ve ever been, you will know that Singapore is a shoppers paradise and although I’m not a huge shopper myself, I certainly took the opportunity to indulge in a little retail therapy. This retail therapy has resulted in a little Singapore haul from two stores; De Ja Vu Vintage and Nimisski. To give these two stores the proper review they deserve, I am realising two separate posts go better go into detail but for now, I am happy to share a haul video for you to enjoy.
