Prelims Irwin Rivera (9-5) Vs Ali Al Qaisi (8-3) Recently Irwin Rivera stepped up on like 12 hour notice to face Giga Chikadze. Even thought he lost a unanimous decision 30-27 x2 and 30-26 he looked promising. A former Titan FC Bantamweight champion is finally getting his chance in his right weight class this time around. He will be facing Ali Al Qaisi a Brave FC fighter who’s currently on a 5 fight win streak. There isn’t much tape out there on this guy so I’m just going to pick Irwin Rivera solely for the fact he trains with Henri Hooft. He can scramble, has good cardio, and has had 3 con ..read more

@NeedingArt Prelims Nathaniel Wood (16-4) Vs John Castaneda (17-4) Ahh, UFCFightIsland3 is here and we are starting off in the bantamweight division. Nathaniel Wood was on a 3 fight win streak riding high on the cusp of top 15. Unfortunately, he ran into John Dodson and in the third round got clipped and TKO’d. He’s going to be facing John “Sexy Mexi” Castaneda a Contender Series alumni and Combate fighter. This is a last minute fight for the debuting fighter and I think this is a tall task to handle in your first fight. Nathaniel Wood should piece him up at range, get him tired and shoot fo ..read more

Prelims Sergey Spivak (10-2) Vs Carlos Felipe (8-0) A battle of young heavyweights to open the card. Sergey Spivak is 1-2 since joining the UFC his losses came against Walt Harris and Marcin Tybura. His lone win was a dominating display against Tai Tuivasa. Carlos Felipe is making his UFC debut 8 fights 6 knockouts. Both fighters are bottom tier when it comes to skill. Carlos Felipe has the better hand speed, but he lacks the ground game and experience. Outside of a flush KO I don’t see where Carlos Felipe wins this. I expect Sergey Spivak to get back in the win column here. It most likely p ..read more

Prelim Martin Day (8-3) Vs Davey Grant (11-4) Fight Island is here and we’re starting off with a clash between two bantamweights. Martin Day is looking to avenge his lone UFC loss last time out against Pingyuan Liu. While Davey Grant is coming off a split decision win his last time out against Grigorii Popov. This fight should really go Martin Days way if he can avoid the take downs from Davey Grant and keep the fight standing. Davey Grant landed 6 take downs against Popov. what that tells me is he knows how to execute off someone’s weaknesses. If Martin Day can defend those, he should get ..read more

@NeedingArtwork on Twitter Prelims Austin Hubbard (11-4) Vs Max Rohskopf (5-0) This is a banger of a fight to start the night off. Hubbard has yet to have an easy fight facing Marc O’ Madsen, Davi Ramos, and now welcoming a stand out wrestler and Jujitsu Wizard Max Rohskopf into the UFC. Hubbard definitely has the experience advantage but other than that there isn’t much to like. Something that concerns me is Max is taking this fight on 6 days notice. Outside that I fully expect Max to get a stoppage here or just control him on the ground for all 15 minutes. Roxanne Modafferi (24-16) Vs Laur ..read more

Prelim Herbert Burns (10-2) Vs Evan Dunham (18-8-1) This is a intriguing fight Herbert Burns should come in here and win relatively easy. The only thing is Evan Dunham is a black belt himself and he’s not one to get submitted easily. If Herbert Burns can’t get the submission than he’s going to have to hunt that body shot. Evan Dunham hasn’t won in 3-4 years and his last two fights have ended in a stoppage. I got Burns but Evan Dunham is a live dog if he can defend the takedowns and get the fight into the second half of the second round. Prelims Chris Gutierrez (14-3-1) Vs Vince Morales (9-4) Chris Gutierrez is 2-1 since joining the UFC.  His last time out, he took a controversial split decision win against Geraldo De Freitas. Vince Morales is another contender series alumna, although the lost on the Contender Series he did find a home in the UFC. Morales is 1-2 since joining the promotion. His losses were to Song Yadong and Benito Lopez. This fight is just a random filler fight. I wouldn’t put any money on either fighter. That being said I’m going to go with Chris G because he has those deadly leg kicks, and if Vince M ..read more

Prelims Sam Alvey (33-13) Vs Ryan Spann (17-5) If you’re unfamiliar with both fighters, I’m here to help. Ryan Spann is currently on a 3-fight win streak. His last win was against Devin Clark at UFC Tampa, which was a submission finish. Before his UFC debut we met him on the Contender Series, where he ultimately lost to Karl Roberson. Since then, he hasn’t looked back, he’s currently on a 7-fight win streak. He will be standing across the Octagon against UFC fan favorite and veteran Sam Alvey. Sam made the switch to light heavyweight in 2018, and hasn’t won a fight yet. As much as I like Sam ..read more

@NeedingArt Prelims Veronica Macedo (6-3-1) vs Bea Malecki (1-0) Starting off the night of fights we got a women’s bout taking place in the bantamweight division. Veronica Macedo hasn’t fought in this division since her debut against Ashlee Evans Smith in 2016 where she eventually dropped a unanimous decision loss. Bea Malecki is coming off her official UFC debut. The reason I say official is because she was on the TUF season where she also lost by unanimous decision. Veronica Macedo is a BJJ specialist coming off a first round submission her last time out against Poliyana Viana. Bea Malecki ..read more

@NeedingArtworkPrelims Guido Cannetti (8-4) vs Danna Batgerel (6-2) This is a nice lowkey bantamweight fight to start us off. Guido Cannetti is an Ultimate Fighter Latin America alum. Losing in the first round by decision, he was brought back after one of his teammates pulled out with a skin infection and lost again to Alejandro Perez by submission. He’s currently 2-3 in the UFC with wins over Diego Rivas and Hugo Viana. Danna made his debut at UFC Schenzhen, losing by decision to Heili Alataeng. Both fighters are brawlers in their own right. I expect this fight to play out like Canneti’s lst ..read more
