Days 75-77 – Rest After “sleeping” in the airport, I was one of the first ready to board the plane to Colorado. My Papa (grandpa) passed away a couple weeks ago so I took a few days break to go to the funeral and see family in Colorado. The 3 days I was in Colorado was both a good break for my legs and butt from biking, but was also a great time to see all my family and celebrate the life of my papa. Day 69 – Windsor Locks to North Grosvenor Dale, CT I could not make up my mind where I wanted to ride to today. I could go back south and get back on the East Coast Greenway, just go straight across from where I am and either stay in Connecticut one more night or go straight to Rhode Island. Many people were also telling me that I need to check out Tree House Brewing in southern Massachusetts, but I thought it was too out of the way. Or was it? Day 63 – Princeton, NJ to Brooklyn, NY Since I splurged on a hotel, I was excited for the breakfast and was going to be a rebel and go twice. I had set my alarm for right before 6am so I could get down early, eat, and then go back and sleep a little more before grabbing some food again when I was leaving. Day 90 – Lubec to Ellsworth, ME It was a very foggy morning out as I walked over to the motel office to grab breakfast. Right as I walked in the office, the motel lady said, “hey, you’re that bicycle guy!” I’m pretty much a celebrity up here now… We had a good chat and I got my breakfast and brought it back to my room. Fruit, home-made muffins, yogurt, coffee, and juice! I literally got everything they were offering, and of course I went back for more after… So today is day 90. Day 87 – Orland to Columbia Falls, ME Another day that I was mentally set on pushing out a bunch of miles. I was ready to get to Canada! I wasn’t going to be late on that 90 day timeline either! I’m never late! Ever since leaving Brunswick, though, I have been trying to find a bike shop. Yes, it has been that long and difficult finding one up here which is strange! Day 83 – South Portland to Brunswick, ME (Hancock) Day two with my wife and we are going to take a scenic drive up the coast and stay right outside of Acadia National Park. But first, I am going to use the morning to get some miles in on my bicycle. We planned to meet up in Brunswick, Maine. Day 80 – Portsmouth, NH to Saco, ME Today I enter my last and most anticipated state – Maine! After riding along the coast of New Hampshire yesterday and seeing the beauty and feeling the cool breezes, I decided again to stick to the coast instead of following the East Coast Greenway. Day 72 – North Dartmouth to Sandwich, MA Since I was staying in the hotel, I woke up early so I could double up on breakfast. Stuffed my face the first round at 7am and then got seconds around 9:30. I’m all about that free food life! Taking advantage of it while I can! Day 66 – Stamford to Milford, CT Woke up to a bagel with cream cheese and a bowl of fruit, yogurt and granola! On top of that, Lori made me 3 sandwiches for the road!
