My name is Rebecca Rasmussen, and I received my PhD in the labs of Julius Lucks and Tom O’Halloran from Northwestern University in 2024. My main PhD project focused on uncovering an RNA-based mechanism that E. coli use to switch their ribosomal proteins to adapt to changing zinc levels through a zinc-sensing transcription factor.
