    PERU WITH PUNO, CUSCO, MACHU PICCHU, AGUAS CALIENTES, SANTA ANITA AND LIMA. JUNE TO JULY 2011. Well, it’s now the middle of June 2021 and I have crossed over to Peru, at the river crossing of Deseguaderos. This is a town divided in two, with half in Bolivia. Quite an interesting scenario, the Bolivian side is defiantly the poorer part of the town and lacks the life that the other half has. When you arrive, you can change your Bolivian currency on the Peruvian side, you get a good rate.     The journey continues with Tingo Maria, a small town nestled in a valley surrounded by mountains and jungle, very beautiful with a nice tropical climate. The nature here is the experience with huge waterfalls and pools that you can bath and the energy is impressive. When you lie in these waters the sheer beauty of the geography and the nature is so beautiful. Lima capital of Peru deserted.  Sunset from the roof top of my hotel. Busy Lima, Miraflores, empty and deserted.  I have been in Peru since the middle of March and have been present during the worse period of the Pandemic, Covid 19 in Peru.     High everyone, yes this is your insider in Peru, have been here since the middle of March. Just a little recap, the Peruvian Borders were actually closed just some days after I arrived in March and after which there was a complete lock down. Little by little the economy began to shut down, along with all the hotels. By May there was hardly any tourist and the few hotels which managed to stay open, began to work directly with the government giving quarantine for two weeks to people, i.e citizens arriving to Peru and certain working sectors. Its now the 1st April, I came to Lima, Peru only for a brief stay. I arrived the day before Peru closed its borders and airport on the 17th March. That very first week listening to the local and international media disturbed me a lot, but after giving days of thought I decided to stay in Lima and not return until this is all over. The weather is good and you can enjoy a lot the company of people here, they are very friendly. The lock down in Lima originally was for two weeks ending on the 30th March.
