The TOUR returns to the states this week and wraps up the fall season with The RSM Classic. The field will be split for the first two days over both the Plantation and Seaside courses with Seaside taking over for the weekend. Tournament host Davis Love III will be in the field as his newly designed Plantation Course at Sea Island GC is unveiled. We’ll focus on Seaside since three of the four round will be played there. Seaside is a par 70 playing just over 7,000 yards. The Plantation course is a par 72 also just over 7,000 yards. As we typically see, a par 70 course brings our focus to Par Fou ..read more

Daily Fantasy Golf Advice – Mayakoba Golf Classic 2019

After a deserved week off, the boys are back at it this week in Mexico. I’m sure there will be plenty of caddies gate talk stemming from defending champion Matt Kuchar’s awful cheapness when compensating his caddie. I think Kuch might throw some extra tips around this week. The other cool story line is Chris Kirk’s return to the PGA TOUR after taking some time away while battling alcohol abuse. The Mayakoba will be played, as always, at El Cameleon Golf Club. This is the 13th edition of the first ever PGA TOUR event to be hosted in Mexico. El Cameleon is a short 6,987 yard, par 71 track. If you’re visiting this website you are more than well aware that Tiger (The Big Cat) tied Sam Snead’s PGA TOUR record of 82 wins last week at the ZOZO Championship in Japan. In honor of that I thought we’d break it down and put into perspective what an amazing 23-year run it’s been for The Cat. It’s pretty difficult to put this accomplishment into perspective. Let’s break it down so we can all appreciate just how incredible this career has been, and it sure ain’t over yet! A CLASS OF THEIR OWN Snead and Cat are the only players ever with more than 80 wins. Jack Nicklaus is the only other play ..read more

Daily Fantasy Golf Advice – WGC HSBC Champions

The Asian “Money Grab” swing comes to a close this week. The third and final event in Asia is the WGC-HSBC Champions. Like last week this is a limited-field/no-cut event with just 78 players participating. We are certainly coming off an historical week that saw the first ever PGA TOUR sanctioned event played in Japan and Tiger Woods winning #82 to tie Sam Snead. Unfortunately, #83 will have to wait as The Big Cat is not in this week’s field. The HSBC will be contested at Shenshan International GC (west) as it has in 13 of the last 14 editions (2012, Mission Hills). Shenshan is a par 72 playing ..read more

It’s an historic week for golf as the PGA TOUR will play it’s very first official tournament in Japan. This is the second stop on the “Asian Money Grab” swing. Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy both make their season debuts this week in the star studed field. The event is a limited field/no-cut event that includes only 78 players. The ZOZO will be contested at Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club in Chiba, Japan. Accordia is a par 70 playing a short 7,041 yards. The course is tree-lined with six doglegs and undulating greens. Sounds like a bit of a throwback and might just be as it was built in 196 ..read more

Daily Fantasy Golf Advice – CJ Cup 2019

The TOUR kicks off the Asian “Money Grab” swing this week with the CJ Cup. It’s a three-week stretch featuring events in Korea, Japan and China. This is just the third playing of this event so history is pretty limited for us. The tourney will again be contested at The Club at Nine Bridges on Jeju Island, South Korea. It’s a limited field with only 78 players and no cut, so you probably need to draft the winner to cash in. Jordan Spieth and Patrick Reed are both making their 2019-2020 PGA TOUR season debuts this week. Nine Bridges is a par 72 playing a relatively short 7,196 yards. Unlike othe ..read more

TaylorMade Golf Balls – Narrowing It Down

Edition three of our deep dive into golf ball options is here. We chilled out a little on this one with only four choices. To check out our previous posts and golf ball choices check out: Titleist Golf Balls Callaway Golf Balls TaylorMade has taken the approach to simplify choices a little more that the other manufacturers. Their choices are solid but limited. It’s also interesting to me that some of their staffers on TOUR don’t play the TaylorMade golf balls (i.e. Tiger Woods plays Bridgestone). We’ll continue to provide this chart below as a guide to each category of golf ball we review. TP ..read more

Daily Fantasy Golf Advice – The Houston Open 2019

The Houston Open makes its debut on the fall portion of the PGA TOUR schedule this year. Since 2003 The Houston Open has been played the week before The Masters. No longer the case, this event will stay in the fall for the foreseeable future. This will also be the final edition played at The Golf Club of Houston. After a 13-year run the venue will move to Memorial Park Golf Club for the 2020 tournament. Henrik Stenson is the highest ranked player in the field at 37th in the OWGR. The new spot on the schedule has really damaged the quality of this field. The Golf Club of Houston is a par 72 str ..read more

This week we continue our deep dive into the four major golf ball manufacturers. Last week we reviewed Titleist’s choices. They had six. This week we’ll take a look at Callaway golf balls and they have seven choices. Just like last time we’ll break each ball out into a specific category. Use this chart to help understand exactly what each category represents.
