The B.C. Lions have signed veteran NFL long snapper Kyle Nelson ahead of the 2024 season.
Kyle was born in Norman, Okla. but qualifies as a National after spending much of his childhood in Canada following his dad, long-time CFL coach Mark Nelson. He is also the grandson of Roger Nelson, who played 13 seasons along the offensive line in Edmonton and was enshrined in the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 1986.

The B.C. Lions have released a trio of players ahead of training camp, including veteran Canadian defensive lineman David Menard.
The 33-year-old played all 18 games for the Lions in 2023 as part of a heavy Canadian defensive line rotation, recording 14 defensive tackles and three sacks. The move comes just one day after the team signed NFL veteran and local product Christian Covington to their roster.

The Toronto Argos have denied allegations made against the team by a former strength and conditioning coach who filed a lawsuit in February.
Argonauts Holding Limited Partnership filed its statement of defence on April 26 and specifically denied the plaintiff’s entitlement to the damages outlined in her amended statement of claim.

The Ottawa native played at the University of Pittsburgh this past season but recently entered the transfer portal. The five-foot-eleven, 195-pound native of Lachine, Que. was selected with the fourth overall pick in the 2022 CFL Draft out of Coastal Carolina University. He dressed for 16 games as a rookie and made 10 starts at strong-side linebacker, recording 57 total tackles and two sacks.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed Canadian punter Dante Mastrogiuseppe.
The 26-year-old native of London, Ont. attended the CFL’s kicking showcase in San Diego in January where he got the chance to perform in front of scouts. He originally went unselected in the 2022 CFL Draft out of the University of Toronto.
