A little back story to how this project was conceived. Since we live in an apartment and do not have a ton of space, I like keeping it simple and not over crowding the space with too many things. One of the easiest ways this is possible is by stacking or using multiple levels while decorating, wherever possible. In other words, lifting stuff off the ground level, to give the space a more roomy effect. Like most of my projects, I like to work with what I have before I buy new stuff for projects especially due to storage constraints and not wanting to hoard or waste stuff. Everything used in thi ..read more

As part of the changing table project, I decided I wanted to line the inside of the drawers, it makes it easy to clean and adds a classy look - the perfect combination! In another post we will look into some easy organizing hacks to keep the inside of your drawers easily accessible and neat looking. For this project I wanted to use something I already had around the house, looking through my stuff I came across a marble vinyl roll I had bought for another project ages ago, I'll probably blog about that another time. The roll was huge and I had tons of material left and it was perfect for the m ..read more

Calligraphy has gained a lot of popularity in recent times. Everyone seems to want calligraphy done on almost everything for weddings and other events, which is great cause I absolutely love calligraphy as well. However, If you are starting out and tried a hand at it, you know it isn't as easy as it looks. There are countless tutorials out there for beginners which teach you in depth about selecting the right materials and how to use them to give you best results. I've invested in quite a few myself, but learned that learning calligraphy requires patience, dedication and tons of practice. If y ..read more

So over the holidays, we had some time on our hands and wanted to change the layout of our living room up. One thing led to another and we decided to take down the wall Mounted TV which left a few holes on the wall. I knew If I left the holes on the wall it would eventually bother me and so I decided to cover them up quickly. It had to be a quick, easy project with stuff I have around the house so that it wouldn’t end up on the to-do list with the other hundred projects :D. I love gallery walls and can never have enough pictures around the house. After Z was born we never really got a chance t ..read more

IKEA hacks are all over the internet and its been trending for a while now. I absolutely love the idea of furniture transformations for more reasons than one, it's great especially for people who have a very specific vision for the look they want to create and can't seem to find the right pieces in stores or for budget shoppers who probably would like a look but can't spend that money just yet. As you know by now, I absolutely love the idea of Re-purposing. It not only reduces waste, saves money but also helps create fun pieces in your home that has a special personal touch. FIVE Simple steps to a minimal nursery wall decor

Like you might know from my earlier blog posts, my main idea with the whole nursery+bedroom space was to keep things minimal, which meant as less cluttered as possible but at the same time comfortably meeting all our needs. It only seemed fair to have the decor be minimal too. For the most part I like walls in a room to be white and bare with only one wall being the highlight wall that has all the decor. For our nursery decor, that's exactly how I approached it, I planned to decorate the wall where the changing table was going to go, assuming this is where our baby would spend most of his time ..read more

How I transformed an IKEA storage unit into a diaper changing station

When I started thinking about what furniture I needed to make life easy once the baby was here, my top priority was to keep it simple especially since we weren't going to have a separate nursery space at least for the first few months. To start off, I didn't have a long list of furniture I needed to invest in immediately, I decided I wanted to take it step by step, testing and trying out what might and might not work for the baby. But one thing I knew for sure is that I needed a changing station. Every one knows that diaper changing is an activity of its own in a new born's routine. Since it w ..read more
