The Trout family in the UK
Trout is a name for a number of freshwater species belonging to the Salmonidae family, including salmon, trout, chars, freshwater whitefishes, and grayling. This includes Sea Trout. The main species of Trout in the UK are Brown Trout.

The Derwent Anglers Club Established in 1839 is one of the oldest clubs in the country and the club holds the fishing of the upper Derwent from waters meet [well above Langdale down to East Ayton] The club has a waiting list to join but this has not always been the case, contact the secretery for more details. We spent a few weeks plotting the course of the old river through the Marishes, we used old photos maps and google earth, it is amazing what you can see through google earth. If anyone has any info at all on the diversion of the river including old photos documents eye-witnesses haha please get in touch.

Doncaster & District AA
Doncaster & District have some great water on the river Don. The club has a proud history going back to 1911. Doncasters website points to the fact that local anglers used to travel to the Trent and North Yorkshire for their fishing. But now the river Don is set to become the most prolific river in Yorkshire.
I have fished all the rivers in Yorkshire and I can’t argue with this statement. The Don certainly produces and in a few decades has gone from fishless to a salmon running river. That said ..read more
