Crocodile Steve-Funky Friends Factory
For the love of geese

This month Island Batik teamed up with Funky Friends Factory to challenge the Island Batik Ambassadors. We were allowed to choose a pattern for the softie and I chose Crocodile Steve. This has been both fun and challenging. Challenging because there are a lot of curved pieces in this pattern and fun because it brought back happy times of my son growing up while stitching. My son loved most documentary type television shows geared towards children, Kratts’ Creatures and anything animal related He also loved anything that had to do with paleontology. He was even invited down into the dig site ..read more

What’s under my foot Put your foot down 232, a weekly linky party every Thursday. Stop by and share your WIP’s, UFO’s, finishes, or any fiber arts projects. No photo overload today. This week I have been working on a secret sewing project for Jennifer’s (Inquiriing Quilter) upcoming fabric collection with Island Batik. No sharing yet, but I think sometime at the end of April you may start seeing sneak peeks. It is definitely one collection of fabric that online swatches do no justice. When I chose the fabrics I had a design in mind. After they arrived, seeing how beautiful they really are, ano ..read more

Whats under my foot Put your foot down 230, a weekly linky party every Thursday. Stop by and share your WIP’s, UFO’s, finishes, or any fiber arts projects. Monday I shared my Island Batik March challenge, aka Give it a whirl finish. You can see that post here. Work continues in my sewing room. Saturday I started tearing things apart and moving everything, had a pretty good mess. When moving my AQ dies to their new home I bent over to pick them up and busted my head open on the corner of an Ikea cube. Sunday and Monday I pretty much did nothing but nurse a head ache. The organization should be ..read more

Whats under my foot Put your foot down 228, a weekly linky party every Thursday. Stop by and share your quilt WIP’s, UFO’s, finishes, or any fiber arts projects. Work continues on these patchwork blocks, I don’t have updated photos though. There was a mishap while trying to get ahead. One evening after I sewed some of these blocks together I decided to go ahead and cut my backing and load it on the frame. It wasn’t until I had it loaded on the frame and ready for batting I realized it. After measuring I rolled it up to cut it to size. Apparently I got a little close to the fold in a few spots ..read more

Put your foot down 227, a weekly linky party every Thursday. Stop by and share your quilt WIP’s, UFO’s, finishes, or any fiber arts projects. Whats under my foot We’ve been in the new home for 6 months and I’ve just about got everything organized. The area under the open staircase was the catch all for odds and ends. and I finally tackled it Friday. My sewing loft on the other hand is about to be moved around again. The kitchen cabinets that were left in the home are under my quilt frame. It’s a great use of space, but the cord hangs up on them as I am quilting and the machine comes to a sudde ..read more

Island Batik Challenge It’s that time again, the first Island Batik blog hop of the year with a lot of beautiful new fabric collections and Ambassador designs to go with them. The fabric I received is Woodstock by Kathy Engle for Canton Village Quilt Works. It is so bright and cheerful, and all the green fabric was screaming flowers flower flowers. After creating the Log Cabin Tree of Life quilt I had to design something that would keep with my high log cabin standards, lol. Put your foot down linky party at the bottom of the post. The products featured in this post were provided to me free o ..read more
