*I just want to first of state that the lovely people from Beerhunter sent me their calendar free of charge but all views are of my own.* Firstly, I will let the photos do the talking to begin with – as you can see – the gluten free beers come nicely packed in the cardboard cube-shaped box with all the doors facing frontwards. Additionally, on the first day you receive a schooner glass and later a bottle opener so you can enjoy your handpicked beers in style. I mean, just look how cute the glass is with the little black circle and stripe design! I personally found the glass and little cashew ..read more

Gluten free peanut sweet potato blondies

This recipe for my gluten free peanut sweet potato blondies is also dairy free! I find that it is a great way to use up those sweet potatoes left at the bottom of the bag that just need a new life! Also, these cute little blondies only require one bowl, a spoon, a fork and baking pan. Finally, yes, there is no need for whisking eggs or sieving flour. If you are relatively unfamiliar with ‘blondies’ then they are basically are a white chocolate brownie. They are gooey-er and slightly more dense than a cake would traditionally be. Anyway, the reason why I’m a big fan of them is because they don ..read more

Are you looking for a fluffy, somewhat healthy and extremely delicious pancake recipe for pancake day? Well, then you have found the right place! My gluten and dairy free sweet potato pancakes are easy to make and very quick. They also, surprisingly, have no oil or refined sugars. The reason why the lack of these two usual ingredients is because of the inclusion of (soy) yogurt and… of course… sweet potatoes. These additions ensure the pancakes are moist and a perfect delicious, veggie filled breakfast. To make these little beauties, you need: one sweet potato, gluten free self-raising flou ..read more

Best Gluten Free White Bread

After many dense ‘bricks’ of gluten free bread attempts… I’ve finally reached the fluffy, white, soft ‘gluten-tasting’ white bread! This white bread has even been approved and enjoyed by my non-coeliac members of the family who went back for seconds. This is the kind of bread that can be eaten for breakfast with some butter and jam, at lunch for a light sandwich or for dinner served on soup as it is salty enough to be used for savoury, but still fluffy and white enough for a breakfast or snack pick-me-up treat. I really do think that my best gluten free white bread recipe will live up to its n ..read more

My Gluten and Dairy Free, Healthy Banana Bread Recipe

From the title, you may be asking… if my gluten, dairy free and refined sugar free healthy banana bread has no wheat flour, refined sugar, butter or milk… what is actually in it? This banana bread is made of just 8 ingredients: GF self-raising flour, bananas, maple syrup, eggs, baking powder, oil and cinnamon. These are also quite healthy compared to most banana breads due to the absence of added sugar and butter! Despite these omissions, this recipe makes a really moist, banana-y breakfast or dessert that will taste equally indulgent. This recipe can also make mini loaves, muffins or Chris ..read more

Gluten Free Guide to Montpellier, France

Whilst Montpellier and France in general (excluding Paris) may not seem to be the best place for coeliacs with the huge selections of baguettes/patisseries/rolls/croissants… there are many gluten free gems to find! For example, my favourite cafe/restaurant I went to during my stay was a 100% gluten free and dairy free spot just 3 minutes away from where I was staying! I didn’t plan or look up the gluten free locations when getting accommodation, you can imagine my surprise to spot Les Demoiselles de Montpellier just on a nearby road on my second day. Keep reading my gluten free guide to Montep ..read more

Gluten free, healthy, spiced sweet potato cupcakes

After going to the Allergy Show 2019, I knew I had to take the sweet potato challenge set by Fullgreens along with Hip and Healthy! Previously, I have made a pizza using their cauli rice with broccoli, so I wanted to use their Vegi rice to make a sweet (healthier) dessert. Fullgreens Vegi rice (sweet potato) is made of unpeeled, washed, cut and steamed sweet potato and so, when cooked into cupcakes/cake/cookies, ends up having a taste reminiscent of carrot cake. However, unlike traditional carrot cake, these gluten free healthy spiced sweet potato cupcakes are very light and fluffy and not hea ..read more

Allergy and Free From Show 2019 Review

*disclaimer* Some of the products shown below are gifted; but all opinions are my own as always! For those of you who don’t know about the show – it is a yearly ‘free-from’ event held in London (Olympia). There are also two other free-from shows in the year: one in Glasgow and one in Liverpool. These are in March and November respectively. According to their website, there were 68 different food and drink exhibitors this year and then a handful more ‘free-from’ brands such as the company behind Gluten Free Heaven Magazine and CoeliacUK. That being said, there were even more brands as the al ..read more
