With April showers ending and May flowers commencing, law school admissions officers are still mostly in a holding pattern. The T14 schools will have their deposit deadline pass this week—once that happens, we may see a little more waitlist activity popping up like dandelions on our collective front lawns. And much like dandelions, any such activity would soon spread to other schools.

The LSAT writing section is weird. It's taken separately from the rest of the test. You can take it up to eight days before your test date, and you can even write it after your test if you prefer (though LSAC won’t release your LSAT score to you or to law schools until you’ve completed the writing section). With May on the horizon, many law school admissions officers continue to be in a holding pattern. As we discussed last week, most schools’ deposit deadlines have passed. While this may provide clarity to some AdComms regarding whether or not to begin pursuing waitlist admission, other schools will hold tight on any waitlist activity until the T14s’ deposit deadline (April 30 / May 1) passes.
