The decisions that have to be made as to where to eat and where to visit. Whether would there be anyone to talk to, what to do in the ..read more

My travel to Uzbekistan

I always had a fascination to learn more about the Silk Road. I read about the tales of travellers in a caravan journeying through hostile regions, mostly composed of merchants and traders transporting goods from Europe to the Far East. Cementing the role of the Silk trade routes in perpetuating commerce during the Middle age years. To this day, it is believed that the Silk Road is not merely a trade route but also an exchange of artworks and cultural artifacts. My fascination intensified when I finally decided to travel to Uzbekistan, a country situated in Central Asia and the heart of the Si ..read more

Book Title: Sons and Lovers Author:  D. H. Lawrence   I have just finished reading the book “Sons and Lovers”, my third of D.H. Lawrence. The plot is not at all exciting. I found it tedious and definitely not the type of easy-read book to recommend to people who might look for something to read for enjoyment. Well, I assume this book is intended this way, complex and sad. What do you think ..read more

Book Title: AND THE MOUNTAINS ECHOED Author: KHALED HOSSEINI This is the third novel by Khaled Hosseini which is quite distinct from THE KITE RUNNER and A THOUSAND SPLENDID SUNS. It has many characters which is sometimes confusing to follow, but actually make sense in the end. I enjoyed the short stories in between though ..read more

During my recent travel to Greece on a cruise, I did not feel lonely at all especially since there were hundreds of my kababayans working onboard the Celestyal Olympia cruise ship who made me feel at home. They took care of me and even spoilt me throughout my journey. Most of all, especially since I travel solo on this trip, there is nothing like conversing with your fellow countryfolks using your local dialect on foreign land, and in this case, on a foreign sea. Maraming Salamat po sa inyong lahat mga Kabayan. Mabuhay po kayo Thank you Celestyal Olympia for the unforgettable and awesome exper ..read more

I got this ichthys or ichthus souvenir during my visit to Athens, Greece. During the time of the Roman Empire, when the early believers were persecuted for being Christians, they adapted a way thru symbolism to identify and communicate with each other. They used the “FISH” as a secret symbol. ἸΧΘΥΣ (IKhThUS) in Koine Greek its acronym translates into English as ‘JESUS CHRIST, SON OF GOD, SAVIOR’. Nowadays it is known colloquially as the “sign of the fish” or the “Jesus fish”. ***   ..read more
