Family holidays are fun. Admit it. This time for a change my mom, cousin and aunt decided “Hampi” Hampi is a world heritage site in Karnataka, India and takes 8 hours from Bangalore by an overnight bus. Hampi is a landscape with fascinating history in each corner, ruined temples and palaces. Known as the “City of ruins”, Hampi did not ring a bell for many travelers till the past some years. But of late, this culturally rich village has become a favorite pick amongst many. We stayed at the Evolve Back Hampi which is a property inspired by the glorious days of the 14th century Vijayanagara Empir ..read more

Who would not want to spend Christmas in such a great city?It seems as though every great Christmas movie or memory of ours watching a show is somehow associated with NYC. To get started, when in NYC during holiday time you simply can’t miss hitting some of the iconic sights you’ve dreamed about. Sure, they will be flooded with people Instagramming away, but we have to admit they are worth battling the masses to experience. A small disclaimer: Spending five days in the city does not qualify me to be an expert to know about the city completely. I love reading those Top “n” places on specific ca ..read more

When it comes to shopping in India, Delhi is the place. The biggest and most popular market , Dilli Haat has been specifically set up by the government to provide a platform for artisans to come and sell their crafts. The DILLI HAAT provides the ambience of a traditional Rural Haat or village market. Did you know that the stalls in Dilli Haat are on a rotational basis wherein craftsman from all over the country come and exhibit their art every 15 days. So when I went, the theme was Bihar. Now, coming back…why I liked Dilli Haat? Let’s be honest, social media has made this place ext ..read more

The Red Fort is a historic fort located in the centre of Delhi. Constructed in 1639 by the fifth Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as the palace of his fortified capital Shahjahanabad. It took a whooping 10 years to  construct this magnificent piece of art. I visit the Tirupati Temple often to seek the blessing of Lord Venkateshwara. There are different ways to reach the temple, either by the walking path or by travelling in a vehicle. I always prefer the walking path as it is like any trekking experience with bit of spirituality attached to it. Note: In this blog I am going to share my walking experience. STEP 1 : TRAIN [CHENNAI CENTRAL—-> TIRUPATI RAILWAY STATION] I took the morning Sapthagiri Express from Chennai Central. The Departing time was 6:25 A.M. Arrival Time at Tirupati was 9:45 A.M.
