It was 30 seconds of sheer terror I will never repeat. The first Performance Powerboats P-280 catamaran is a single-outboard blast. The second one? That happened today wit ..read more

It’s early summer of 1953, and Saturday mornings can’t come fast enough for Alfred Williams. Every Saturday morning, 6-year-old Williams wakes up early and mills around the house, hoping for an invite on a fishing adventure with Grandma. He’s in charge of carrying her bucket and keeping the snakes away during their outing, a big job for such a little guy. “Grandma smoked a pipe, and she’d get that pipe lit and settled in the corner of her mouth and sit so quiet….and so content…and I’d just watch her,” Williams said. “I wasn’t fishing much back in those days; I was just watching. Waiting. Learn ..read more

When Almost-New Is New Enough—A TNT Delivery Tale

Still, for the most part, 11 hours isn’t much use. Virginia’s Phil Gibson researched outboard-powered catamarans for a year before he decided on an MTI 390X, which he found through TNT Custom Marine Sales in Miami. That was the case with an MTI 390X catamaran that TNT Custom Marine Sales of Miami had built for Wayne Huizenga, Jr.  In t ..read more

Johnny Sturgeon is unassuming. You wouldn’t look at him and think “TikTok influencer.” Dressed simply in a worn sailing cap, old jeans and trainers coated in marine insulation foam, he defies traditional influencer conventions. He’s warm and friendly, with none of the social media glitz and glam. And yet, in the span of just one year, Johnny, a self-proclaimed simple man, amassed one of the most popular boat renovation followings online today. And the key to that following, Johnny knows, isn’t him. “The people aren’t here for me,” he said. “They’re here for the boat.” On a Sunday morning, bene ..read more
