A superb second half display from Eire Óg at Ballinascreen on Sunday helped the Tyrone champions to the Ulster Minor Hurling Shield title against Armagh side Craobh Ciaran on a score line of 1-12 to 0-9. Played in difficult conditions, and despite playing wind assisted in the first half, the Carrickmore based side went in at the break only three ahead with Aidan Woods and Francie Hurson among the points. Eire Óg introduced Kevin Cuddy at the start of the second half and that change had a huge bearing on the outcome. Cuddy’s all action style and constant running caused all sorts of diffi ..read more

Ulster Intermediate Hurling Championship Final Setanta 1-16 Eire Og 2-11 Eire Óg went into Saturday’s Ulster Intermediate Final against Setanta with a fair degree of confidence and self belief following wins over Lisbellaw and Creggan in their Ulster campaign. Unfortunately for them they didn’t get to the performance levels of those two games and, in the first half particularly, looked undercooked and off the pace. The Tyrone champions appeared somewhat subdued during the opening half as a Gerard Gilmore inspired Setanta side reached the break leading by six on a 0-11 to 0-5 scoreline. Eire Óg ..read more

A large crowd turned up at Garvaghy on Wednesday evening for the Grade 2 league final between Cappagh and NCC. After a very entertaining game Cappagh emerged 2-10 to 1-5 winners. The scoreboard fails to tell the whole story as the game was much closer that the double scores win it turned out to be. Despite playing with the breeze Cappagh took a while to settle and NCC  controlled most oof the early possession and created the better chances in the first half. NCC went in at the break leading 1-4 to 0-4 with their goal coming from the impressive Pol O’Brien and points from Callum Jac ..read more
