Athens State is pleased to announce that it will be launching a new BA in Music Industry Studies program this fall. The program is designed to offer relevant experiential training opportunities in the music industry, including essential skills in music performance and production, recording and audio engineering, and music business and management. The Alabama Center for the Arts is pleased to announce that the 2024 Helen Keller Art Show of Alabama is now open in the Center’s Walking Gallery. The exhibit is a traveling juried art show that displays artwork created by students throughout Alabama who have visual impairments, blindness, and/or deaf-blindness. The Alabama Center for the Arts is pleased to announce its newest exhibit, PAPER CANVAS CLAY. The exhibit will open in the Center’s Main Gallery on Friday, July 12 and remain on display until Friday, August 30. An Opening Artist Reception will be held on Friday, July 12 at 12:00 pm in the Main Gallery. The reception will be free and open to the public. The Athens State University Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) was recently named to the 2024 PTK Transfer Honor Roll among 228 colleges and universities in recognition of the dynamic pathways they have created to support community college transfer students. Innovate Alabama recently announced the second round of designees of the Innovate Alabama Network, a comprehensive resource to connect communities, nonprofits and higher education institutions across Alabama fostering innovation in their local footprint.
