Lendary Review: An Alternative Way of Peer-to-Peer Lending
P2P Income

We are all familiar with the theoretical benefits of peer-to-peer lending: It can be good for borrowers if they get access to capital that they wouldn’t have otherwise received from banks. And it can be good for lenders who have access to a source of return for their capital that is otherwise restricted to banks or other professional financial services. However, we all know what can go wrong – and a lot has recently gone wrong in traditional P2P lending. Mainly, credit default rates have been much higher than in the past, driven in part by the corona crisis, and that has left many investors wi ..read more

February 2020 Income Report
P2P Income

Hello Everyone,  The short month of February (although longer than usual) was not the best one for me. Both personally and financially. The stock market crash has cost me a pretty penny but I am not too worried for now. I added to my Royal Dutch Shell position but the stock has been on a tear the past couple of weeks costing me over 3k (on top of my other stockholding losses). At least I am not too worried since this is my long term holding yielding 7.8% from my average buying price. Now, it yields 8.3% and since I own the B class shares from Amsterdam the dividend is actually tax-free. Tha ..read more

Hello Everyone, It has been a couple of turbulent months in the p2p lending scene. With Kuetzal folding last December, and Envestio(a platform that I enjoyed and was very successful) folding a couple of weeks ago, I don’t know what to think of this situation. On the one hand, I blame some people for causing panic and a bank run that could have caused the collapse of Envestio, and on the other, Envestio handled the situation so scummy that it doesn’t leave any room for doubt. I really hope that some of my portfolio will be recovered but it is highly doubtful. As of right now I took a 917.74 ..read more

With the recent chain of events at Envestio and Kuetzal, Crowdestor made a statement to clear things up. Here it is: Dear investors, Recent fraudulent and dishonourable activities carried out by several crowdfunding platforms has been a big shock for all involved in this industry, has caused huge losses to more than 15 000 investors and has seriously damaged the reputation and trust of crowdfunding in general.  We are receiving hundreds and hundreds of emails with questions: Is CROWDESTOR financially stable? Is CROWDESTOR going to face “Bank-run”? Is CROWDESTOR running business ..read more

December 2019 Income Report
P2P Income

Hello and Happy New Year everyone, The last month of the year was eventful, to say the least, in the world of p2p lending with some alarming (again, to say the least), signs from Kuetzal. We will get to it on the “Kuetzal” segment of this post. I also added 300€ to Lendermarket. This platform looks very compelling to me so I will probably re-balance some of my portfolio which is Mintos heavy and add more to Lendermarket. Mintos Mintos added a new feature on the Dashboard called “Pending Payments” this month. These are the funds from loans that have been paid back by the borrower ..read more

Hello Everyone,  This month I added a new platform to my collection. This new platform is Lendermarket, and we will go into details on why I chose this platform and my starting investment. The additional funds came from my income and a 700€ withdraw I made from Mintos. The first one ever! This is not because I stopped thinking Mintos is the best platform overall but because I thought that Lendermarket is a platform that offers a higher rate at this specific period. So, let’s start this income report with the newest addition to the roaster: Lendermarket I added Lendermarket to my portf ..read more

Hello Everyone,  Not many things happened this month with my p2p lending portfolio. Everything worked as expected, and also Mintos shows signs of improvement with both the number of loans and the rates offered being higher. Let’s get started with my income:  Crowdestor This is probably the best business crowdlending platform right now, at least as far as interest and liquidity are concerned. They are publishing many loans with high rates, and they also have plenty of information about the projects. There is even a live project right now that yields 18% from interest and a 14% success ..read more

September 2019 Income Review

Hello Everyone,  A month full of cash drag passed with no signs of improvement on Mintos. I have read many investors fleeing the platform, and that could be a good thing. Personally, I will not invest in anything less than 11% on Mintos, and although I don’t invest my idle cash, I am not pulling them either in hopes that things will get better.  On a positive note, EstateGuru is running a double cashback promotion during this month. You will receive when you register through this link will give a 1% cashback promotion for any investment made during your first 30 days. This means that eve ..read more

August 2019 Income Report
P2P Income

Hello Everyone,  The month of August 2019 was pretty eventful in the p2p lending world with a loan originator from Mintos stopping payments to investors. To people familiar with the matter, I am of course talking about Aforti Finance. Aforti had loans listed on three different platforms. The largest one is Mintos and then Viventor and Debitum Network.  Mintos, in my opinion, mishandled the situation and blocked all transactions from the originator. Of course, Mintos had downgraded Aforti and stopped listing loans on the primary market, but you were not able to sell the loans to the secon ..read more
