Margareten, but we like to call her Margaret for short) is truly a mixed bag in terms of what makes up its character, and the reasons to visit if you don’t live in the neighbourhood. It’s gritty and urban, super central, but because it hasn’t got a U-Bahn running through most of it, it’s kind of quietly sat on top of the 4th district without getting much attention. Many people even mistake places in the 5th as being located in the 4th.

Red brick buildings are a rare breed in Vienna and this makes them really stand out from the rest. Plus, with red being the colour of fire, rouge, the best tasting gummi bear, a blush, and red dresses, there’s something about the red bricks that inspires a warm feeling deep down inside. Don’t you think? Anyway, we’ve hit the streets to find them and put them into a photo story below. Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 1010

We totally understand that going out for some sweaty sightseeing isn’t the most appealing thought for those amongst us who love hibernating with some quality films, no matter the weather. However, maybe going on a tour of the locations where films have used Vienna as a backdrop will get you out of your binging-cave.
Also, we’re not responsible if any sudden delusions of grandeur make you actually attempt to do the things these superheroes and secret agents go about doing in the films when at these locations – that’s on you. But please, do send pictures.
