Making Cocoa Tea
Tan Rosie Caribbean Food Blog

I found this piece of cocoa today and thought I’d make some traditional Cocoa Tea. I bought the cocoa from Carriacou Grenada some time ago and the smell makes me want to go back to the island to drink more! The cocoa beans are picked, dried, ground and formed into a ball or disc, which can be grated and made into a lovely tea (hot chocolate). This tea has been made by countless Caribbean households for centuries. You can replace the cocoa ball for good quality cocoa powder, then add your Caribbean sweet spices like nutmeg, cinnamon and a brown sugar to taste. It’s delicious. #cocoatea #cocoabe ..read more
