I've gone on a bit of a journey recently. I am building a couple of B2B apps, and so facing the possibility of a future where a customer asks for SAML authentication. I have a business management app built using Laravel 8. Small usage, single LAMP host on Vultr (4 cpu, 8GB). Day to day, everything is good, host usage is less than 20%. On the 1st of every month at 1am, I need to aggregate a lot of data for reporting. I have a console command with queue jobs that goes through tens of thousands of accounts, inventory items and transactions. This scheduled task runs for ~5 hours. I'm sure most of you here will have had at least some exposure with Laravel's Spatie Media Library. If you haven't, it's a great package that offers quick and easy asset, specifically image management for your models. One technique I like to use, is prefixing my medias storage path based on the current environment, while using cloud providers. Hi folks, I built SimpleStats because I always found it way too exhausting and complicated to obtain meaningful tracking for my Laravel applications, which go beyond just counting visits, views, and page impressions. I've just switching to using laravel herd and it seemed a breeze, but now i'm finding it impossible to use with a static vue site. This site is just html/js that calls a separate API on a separate project/domain and has no need for PHP. From my own investigations it seems like an nginx file is created in ~"/Library/Application Support/Herd/config/valet/Nginx/mydomain.test" and it's designed for PHP sites. I could edit this to what I need but that feels hacky. For one of my side projects I'd like to dabble in a mobile app, I've built out the extensive API in Laravel but I'm not too sure which technology to go with to consume the API. I am pretty familar with VueJS but a mobile app is all new territory for me.
