New England Patriots defensive lineman Christian Barmore locked in his future earlier this week.
Barmore reportedly agreed to a four-year contract extension worth a maximum value of $92 million with the Patriots on Monday. The deal reportedly gave Barmore $41.8 million guaranteed.
And Barmore certainly was feeling thankful with the deal complete and posted a grateful message on social media.
“A huge thank you to the Kraft family, my coaches, my teammates and Patriots fans everywhere,” Barmore posted on Instagram. “A special thanks to coach Troy Gore, Nicole Lynn and Klutch Sports, Kass ..read more

Javon Baker wasn’t too pleased to have to wait to hear his name called until the fourth round, and the Patriots draft pick still is carrying a chip on his shoulder.
New England drafted Baker with the 110th pick of the 2024 NFL Draft. He was one of two wide receivers the Patriots selected along with Ja’Lynn Polk, who was picked 37th overall in the second round.
Baker quickly caught fans’ attention with his initial reaction to getting drafted and his explosive quote about making “people in wheelchairs stand up.” It’s fair to say the 22-year-old wants to make the 31 other franchises regre ..read more

Be honest with yourselves, Patriots fans: Tom Brady returning as New England’s quarterback in 2024 is better in theory than in practice.
Why are we having this conversation? Brady almost certainly isn’t coming back to Foxboro this year, except to take his rightful spot in the Patriots Hall of Fame.
Well, sure. But the seven-time Super Bowl champion, for whatever reason, didn’t completely slam the door when asked during a recent podcast appearance about potentially unretiring, even mentioning the Patriots by name. Alas, we’re left to speculate.
And that’s exactly what NESN’s Mike Cole a ..read more

The New England Patriots reportedly are bringing in a veteran kicker to compete for the starting job.
ESPN’s Mike Reiss on Thursday reported the Patriots have agreed to terms with Joey Slye, who was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars on Tuesday and is expected to compete with sophomore Chad Ryland.
Reiss’ report was confirmed by the Boston Herald, MassLive and Boston Globe.
The 28-year-old Slye has played for four teams during his five seasons in the league. During his career, Slye has converted 82.3% of his field goal attempts (121-for-147) and 88.5% of his extra points (138-for-156 ..read more

Jerod Mayo will have experienced coaches and assistants helping him out in his first year as Patriots head coach, but he also has former players on his staff, too.
New England overhauled its staff this offseason and added Tiquan Underwood as assistant wide receivers coach and Dont’a Hightower as inside linebackers coach. Matthew Slater didn’t spend too much time in the retirement ranks when he joined the team in an advisory role. Super Bowl champion James White floated his name to join Mayo’s staff, but he’ll remain on the outside looking in on the organization.
Mayo appears to be welc ..read more

The Patriots this offseason overhauled their offensive staff, and there could be one member fans of Drake Maye should keep an eye on.
Offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt was the major hire for New England, and part of his staff will be quarterbacks coach T.C. McCartney and senior offensive assistant Ben McAdoo. The trio was part of the Patriots’ contingent that met prospects and visited during pro days, including Maye’s at North Carolina.
NFL Network reporter Cameron Wolfe joined Taylor Kyles on CLNS Media’s “Patriots Daily,” where he highlighted an assistant to keep an eye on with roo ..read more

The Patriots only are a week removed from their 2024 draft, but it’s never too early to look ahead to next year’s seven-round event, right?
That’s what ESPN’s Jordan Reid did in a very early 2025 mock draft published Thursday morning. The NFL analyst determined the first-round order via Super Bowl LIX odds, which currently situate New England as a Lombardi Trophy longshot. Thus, Reid positioned the Patriots third overall, the same spot the franchise selected quarterback Drake Maye last week.

Just days after setting up their future offense with multiple picks in the 2024 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots beefed up the future of their defense by signing Christian Barmore to a new four-year deal.
Barmore’s new deal includes $41.8 million guaranteed, and has a maximum value of up to $92 million. It is the largest, non-Tom Brady contract in Patriots history, and for that reason, we have named him our VA Hero of the Week!
Barmore totaled a career high in tackles and sacks last season for the Patriots, and will look to continue to disrupt offensive lines in the AFC East for yea ..read more

Layden Robinson, an offensive lineman who the Patriots selected in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, believes he’s going to fit New England’s offense well.
And based on what Robinson relayed about his conversations with Patriots assistants, including offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt, apparently they agree.
The Patriots selected Robinson with their first of two fourth-round picks (No. 103). The Texas A&M product will arrive in New England after he started 23 games at right guard the last two seasons.
“It’s like running off the ball and getting after everything,” Robinson sa ..read more

FOXBORO, Mass. — Joshua Uche didn’t receive a long-term commitment this offseason, but he did see a few of his New England Patriots teammates receive their own well-deserved long-term deals.
Uche, who re-signed a one-year contract this offseason, was happy to see defensive tackle Christian Barmore receive a four-year, $92 million extension. And before Barmore there was offensive tackle Mike Onwenu, who returned to New England on a three-year, $57 million deal himself. In addition to those two players, the Patriots also retained many of their own on shorter-term contracts, including wid ..read more
