The Wings weren’t in action Saturday night, but a game with huge implications for the Wings 2024 offseason took place in Halifax as the Thunderbirds defeated the Colorado Mammoth 14-10. At the trade deadline, Paul Day traded forward Taggart Clark to the New York Riptide in exchange for their first round selection in the 2024 NLL draft, which coincidentally was from the Colorado Mammoth. After the trade, the Mammoth have gone 1-4, losing their final four games of the season. The Wings got back on track in Denver on Friday night as they jumped on the Mammoth early and never looked back. The Wings were helped to a five goal lead with first quarter goals from Joe Resetarits, Ben McIntosh (2), Mitch Jones, and Holden Cattoni. Colorado started to show signs of life in the second quarter, cutting the Wings lead to 5-3 before Resetarits and Jones scored in the final minute of the half to take a 7-3 lead into the halftime break. The Wings were eliminated from contention for the 2024 NLL Playoffs after falling 12-10 to the Panther City Lacrosse Club on Sunday Night. The Wings went into Sunday’s matchup missing two key members of their defense, Chad Tutton and Mike McCannell. Tutton was unavailable due to personal reasons, while McCannell was sidelined after a car accident on Friday. The Wings dropped the second half of their weekend doubleheader to the Buffalo Bandits on Saturday as they lost to the Bandits, 18-12. Dhane Smith led the way offensively for the Bandits, with 12 points (5G, 7A) on the night. Joe Resetarits led the Wings in scoring with 8 points (3G, 5A). Zach Higgins let in 16 goals on 67 shots. Thursday was a tough night for Philly lacrosse fans as the Wings were beaten by a consistent Saskatchewan squad as the Rush took down the Wings,   The Rush jumped into the lead early in the first and never looked back, taking a 3 goal lead before Mitch Jones got the Wings on the board. However, the Rush added another goal before the end of the opening frame to take a 4-1 lead. The Wings were looking to piece together two wins in a row entering Saturday night, but never really came close as they were dealt their eighth loss of the season by the Vancouver Warriors.   Keegan Bal had himself a monster game for Vancouver as he scored 8 goals and tallied 5 assists for a total of 13 points.   For the Wings, Mitch Jones led in scoring with 10 points (4G, 6A), followed by Holden Cattoni with 6 (3G, 3A), and Joe Resetarits was just behind him with 5 (2G, 3A). The Wings got back into the win column on Saturday night in Georgia as they took down the Swarm, 13-8.
