The Women’s Business Network of Ottawa is seeking proposals for individuals or organizations interested in providing administrative support to assist us with the day-to-day operations of the organization.
The objective of this Request for Proposal is to locate a source that will provide the best overall value to the Women’s Business Network of Ottawa. While price is a significant factor, other criteria will form the basis of our award decision, as more fully described in the Evaluation Factors section of the Request for Proposal.

This is one of the tips Sue B. Zimmerman uses on Instagram. The idea is to create a short introduction so that people visiting your page for the first time will have a pretty good idea of who you are, and why they should (or shouldn’t) follow you.
Today I’m borrowing Sue’s idea for a few reasons. There are a lot of WBN members I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting yet, for one thing. So there’s a big chance we haven’t even had a chance to chat on Zoom. Then the pandemic brought a whole lot of changes to my business, which I realize I still haven’t told people about.

The WBN is seeking an incoming chair of the BYA Nominations Committee.
This is a volunteer position and comprises of two main responsibilities:
Nominations chair:
Select and set up your committee for the 2021-22 term (typically 2-4 individuals)
Managing the committee through the nominations and section process
Solicit and promote nominations in each of professional, entrepreneur and corporate categories
Organize nomination acceptance and submission completion
Assemble selection committees to introduce the community to the network and to showcase the WBN organization

It’s been a long year of learning to live in a pandemic. The string of lockdowns has been extremely difficult on small businesses, and mentally tough on a LOT of people. I’m really thankful that I’ve been able to use this time to work on my business. But it’s also been a great opportunity to connect.
I can tell you that over the past year I’ve had some fantastic conversations with friends. I’m so out of practice, that my throat now hurts from talking on the phone so much. And I’m glad.
