Rounding up all Warriors and NBA related news for Wednesday, April 17th.
The Golden State Warriors’ season came to an abrupt end Tuesday night after losing to the Sacramento Kings in the first round of the Play-In Tournament, 118-94. It was a disappointing finish to yet another roller coaster of a season as the Kings dominated the Warriors throughout the entire night.
Despite a recent hot stretch to finish the year, Warriors’ shooting guard Klay Thompson had his worst game of the season. He shot 0-of-6 from the three-point line and 0-of-10 from the fi ..read more

The struggles and concerns all culminated in a blowout defeat in the play-in.
One of the things that stood out this season for the Golden State Warriors was the constant search for something that just *worked*.
Any team looking to contend for a title — or at the very least, looking to become a serious playoff team — has to bring something to the table. That takes the form of an identity rooted upon stability and consistency. In all of the years the Warriors have won their four championships, they knew who they were: a team that moves the ball, moves its players ..read more

Assessing every player’s performance from the team’s 118-94 loss to Sacramento.
The Golden State Warriors lost to the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night. More specifically, the Warriors got annihilated. Their season came to an abrupt halt, with all the goodwill they’d built up over a brilliant final stretch of the season swiftly washed away.
It was ugly. It was frustrating. It was painful. And it left a taste in everyone’s mouth that is going to be heavy on the team’s mind as they look towards the offseason.

The winner would get an opportunity to face the New Orleans Pelicans and advance to the playoffs. The path to the playoffs now goes through New Orleans.
The Golden State Warriors don’t yet know if they’re playing on Friday night. In order to keep their season alive, the Dubs have to go through a pesky Sacramento Kings team tonight, on the road. But if the Warriors win that game, and book a spot in the second and final round of the Play-In tournament, they now know who they’ll play: the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Los Angeles Lakers went on the road and bested the Pelicans in the Western Conference Play-In Tournament opener on Wednesday, winnin ..read more

Sacramento will be without Malik Monk and Kevin Huerter.
The day is here. It’s time for Game No. 83, as the Golden State Warriors will head up the road to face the Sacramento Kings. The winner moves on; the loser heads home for an offseason of regrouping. Needless to say, it’s a huge game: not only is a whole bunch on the line, but the two teams have been building a rivalry recently, and three of their four games this year were decided by a single point.
Thankfully, NBA fans will be treated to a superstar-filled matchup, as both teams are fairly healthy ..read more
