Here is another addition to my list of Blackened Cocktails, where we take a traditional cocktail and swap out the boring old Vermouth for some nice, spicy Averna. Don’t get me wrong, I love a nice fortified wine, but I never drink enough to finish a bottle before it spoils. With no company over here in the dust laden Green Jenkin’s Walk In Closet Home Bar for nearly a year now due to this wretched pandemi ..read more

I’ve had a vague idea of doing this for a few years now and I’ll post more about it in the very near future. This newest inspiration, however, was from my friend ..read more

With the world as it is these days under the pandemic, with officials setting up holiday lockdowns, I’m going to refrain from a BS post about what to be thankful for as it would feel forced and disingenuous. So, here is a very pleasant, warm drink for the holidays that I’m planning on scaling up to about a gallon when I do v ..read more

I’m adding a new drink to my list of Cocktails From Beyond and dedicating it to the release of the Soska Sisters‘ newest film, Rabid, a remake of the 1977 film by the master of body horror, David Cronenberg. Many of their earlier films, most notably American Mary, call back to that Canadian genius in a Grindhouse Cronenberg kinda way and I’m psyched to see wh ..read more

The Black Christmas is a drink 2 steps from a Manhattan named after the classic holiday slasher film of the same name that has 2 highly unnecessary remakes. Luckily, this remake is quite tasty and fills me with bloody holiday joy.
I made this Manhattan variation for the family Christmas gathering this year and I’ll end the year with one for myself. What started as a Black Manhat ..read more
