We have recently moved to Oxford because of my kids schooling. Done house viewing Around Abingdon / Headington and North Oxford.
I am finding Abingdon better value for money vs Headington, Oxford north is different especially Oxford North Canalside Development by Hills group.
I like Canalside development north of Oxford but not sure the price justifying the new builds especially they are all town houses and very expensive. This development simply rides on the success of Oxford north life science park.
Headington is very crowded and they money they ask for the space is not good value

Recently went for a viewing for a house on Osney Island. It was an amazing 2 bedroom but not sure if I should make an offer because I've heard mixed things about flooding. Can anyone tell me anything about the area - whether you would buy here - whether you would rent here - etc... Anything would be appreciated.
It is close to the train station with excellent commuter links, but how is the community on the island, and do you think it is an area that will appreciate with the new train station and refurbishment of the Osney power station?

If you had the money to buy a house in Botley or Jericho, would you do so considering the risk of floods ?

I just moved to Oxford and am going to puregym as my current gym. But since I can afford a bit of luxury, I want to consider spending a bit more money on the gym to make getting healthy and fit more enjoyable. I couldn't really find anything online yet though so I'd appreciate some recommendations to help direct my research.

Hi all, wondering if anyone can tell me what's going on. Train tickets to London are now priced at £70-£80 on the times I catch the train, which usually cost me around £30 (£20ish if I book early). This is mid week, all of May. Is something happening in May? Or have prices just gone up?

Myself and a group of friends (Team name - Big Fact Hunt) have been meeting once a month for quiz nights and we'd like to try different venues. So far we've done; Tap Social White House, Hollybush Osney & The White Hart in Headington.
Any others worth a visit? Thanks in advance.
