Realistic portraits in black and grey with intricate details and shading are his signature. In his work he incorporates dark elements that add depth and complexity to each piece. One eye on the Renaissance and one on the photographic darkroom which still is part of his artistic DNA.

Norma works in her beloved Lille and gives us a lot of tattoo subjects (some of them of considerable size) dedicated to bird-and-flower painting.
Hi Norma, have you always wanted to be a tattoo artist in your life or did you become one due to some special circumstance?
I never imagined to become a tattoo artist but I’ve always drawn a lot. I worked like a graphic designer in videogames (was an accident too!) and made a lot of collective exhibition in bars with friends at that time.

The most classical subjects of Japanese tradition are presented in this book as a miscellany of study drawings interpreted by the artistic flair of the author Ichibay.
Real and imaginary animals, such as cats, carp, foxes, frogs, fudo, snakes, crabs, tigers and spiders are displayed in hundreds of different poses and movements, studied in close-up detail and full-length.
Foxes in the classic features of the legendary characters from oriental mythology show the details of their fur through the black lines on the white paper, thus becoming sketches from which to start working on that subject ..read more
