The Mars Badminton Horse Trials cross-country times for Saturday’s action (11 May) have been released. The first pair out on course, Tom Jackson and Farndon, will set off out of the start box at 11.30am. After that, horses and riders set off at five-minute intervals, subject to any holds that might be needed, with the final competitors Pippa Funnell and MCS Maverick expected to begin their round over Eric Winter’s course at 4.09pm. David Doel and Galileo Nieuwmoed in the first horse inspection of the 2024 Mars Badminton Horse Trials. David Doel’s ride Galileo Nieuwmoed has been added to the 2024 Mars Badminton Horse Trials withdrawals. Nineteenth after the dressage on 33.9, David told H&H: “He just doesn’t feel 100% within himself – he feels really flat and uninterested. The 2024 Mars Badminton Horse Trials has so far proved to be something of a breakthrough for rider Lauren Innes and her horse Global Fision M (Flipper). The 2024 Mars Badminton Horse Trials will be a first for 26-year-old Irish rider Daragh Byrne and his horse Kilcannon Ramiro. Irish rider Lucy Latta, 27, is looking forward to her first-attempt at the Mars Badminton Horse Trials. Her ride this week, RCA Patron Saint (Paddy), is a British-bred SHB(GB) registered 13-year-old gelding owned by Leslie Crampton. Arthur Marx riding Church’Ile during the dressage phase of the 2024 Mars Badminton Horse Trials. French rider Arthur Marx will be looking for redemption at the Mars Badminton Horse Trials this year, following a fall halfway round the cross-country in 2023 aboard Church’Ile.
