Vegas Buffets Are Back – Sort Of

Las Vegas buffets are back! Well, sorta. Not all Las Vegas buffets have reopened but many on the Vegas Strip are back. The COVID-19 pandemic forced the closure of all Las Vegas buffets last year. Casino operators have had time to evaluate if the self-serve all-you-can-eat dining concepts are worth reopening.   Most of the lower-priced Las Vegas “value” buffets remain closed and may not reopen. CEOs for Boyd Gaming, Caesars, and Station Casinos have all said their buffets may not be returning. In fact, only one of the reopened buffets is at one of these properties.       Mos ..read more

Vegas Buffets Are Coming Back!

Buffets are back! Well, two buffets are back! The Cosmopolitan opened the Wicked Spoon buffet in April. Caesars Palace is opening its Bacchanal Buffet on May 20. These are the only two buffets open on the Vegas Strip as of the writing of this blog post.   There’s a reason for these two buffets to reopen while most in Las Vegas remain closed. Neither buffet is the classic “Vegas Value” buffet. These are both gourmet buffets with price points that can peak around $100 per person for dinner. The prices might be appropriate but the buffet isn’t the deal it used to be.       Wit ..read more

Block 16 Food Hall at The Cosmopolitan Adding New Restaurant In 2021

The Block 16 Food Hall at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas continues to evolve. Pok Pok Chicken recently closed all of its locations in the US. It will be replaced by Bāng Bar from chef David Chang. More on that shortly. I want to look at the food hall as a whole because it offers some of the most affordable dining options at the Cosmopolitan.   It’s important to note that this isn’t a place for “cheap eats.” However, the price points are fair for a luxury property on the Vegas Strip. You won’t break the bank eating at any restaurant here. Block 16 has a variety of quality food for anyone lo ..read more

Virgin Hotels Las Vegas was first introduced in 2018. This year the property being built where the Hard Rock once stood shared some construction updates along with confirmation that renovations are moving forward despite the global pandemic slowing down much of the world.   We have another update on Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. The new casino-hotel located east of Planet Hollywood and the Cosmopolitan announced its dining lineup. Much like the Hard Rock before there will be a lot of places to eat and drink inside and outside at Virgin Las Vegas.     Some of the restaurants will be f ..read more

Eating and Drinking Outdoors At The Linq

This is one of the best times to eat and drink outdoors when visiting Las Vegas. During the summer we shared some places to dine al fresco on the Vegas Strip. The middle of July and into early August is probably my least favorite time to be outside in Las Vegas. It’s just too hot for me but that’s a personal thing. With COVID-19 spreading, the information was helpful for many looking for a place to grab a bite in Las Vegas in the fresh air.           The spring and late summer/early fall are amazing times to spend outside on the Vegas Strip. Regardless of COVID-19 conc ..read more

Al Fresco Dining Las Vegas

Dining al fresco seems to be a big deal around the country. States reopening after being closed to help slow the spread of coronavirus are more likely to allow outdoor dining than indoor dining. This seems like a big deal for much of the country. However, this isn’t new in Las Vegas. Eating outdoors has been a Las Vegas tradition during the summer months for as long as I can remember. That said, it might be more in demand than ever as people acclimate to spending time out of their houses again.   Restaurants all over Las Vegas have been adding outdoor seating whenever possible for years n ..read more

Dining at Aria Las Vegas

I’ve visited every casino on the Vegas Strip over the years. I’ve stayed at many, but not all, hotels in the tourist corridor. Last year I had multiple friends stay at Aria and I visited more often than any year since I moved to Las Vegas. Although I’ve never slept at Aria, I’ve seen the beautiful technology-forward hotel rooms. The rooms are luxury quality at a lower price point than you’d pay at one of the top tier Las Vegas casino-resorts.           I rarely gamble at Aria after way too many losses when the casino first opened. However, I visit Aria often because of ..read more

It’s time to look at some of the highlights of Park MGM. We’ve been covering the transformation of Monte Carlo to Park MGM since 2017(!). In early 2018 MGM Resorts said the property was officially Park MGM even though construction wasn’t complete. The majority of the renovations to Park MGM were complete by the end of the year. However, there were still a few restaurants opening throughout 2019. Well, the reinvention of the property is complete and it’s a good time to look at some of the highlights at Park MGM.       The Best Thing About Park MGM Park MGM has a mostly new casino ..read more

Circa Resort & Casino keeps revealing different features of the new resort and casino being built in Downtown Las Vegas. Frankly, everything the new casino has revealed sounds great. The latest news from Circa is about the dining options.   Unlike most casinos located in the Fremont Street casino area, the Golden Nugget and Plaza have a good variety of restaurants located on the property. That’s all. It looks like we’ll be able to add Circa to the list of properties with a wide variety of eateries when it opens in December.       Circa is slated to open sometime after i ..read more
