Sometimes, a Mandalorian could use a little help finding their clan. That’s the story told in a new commercial from Apple and Lucasfilm for the iPhone 15 “Precision Finding for Find My Friends” feature. Directed by Kim Gehrig and debuting in time for Star Wars Day, the clever spot follows a Mandalorian costumer (played by real-life fan Owen) as he journeys to meet up with friends at a local con. He starts off the day feeding his cat, Leia, and checking for the essentials (“Keys, phone, thermal detonator”), before heading out. He picks up a boba tea (naturally), grabs the bus, and uses his iPh ..read more

Barriss Offee is a friend, a student, a prodigy. And to some, a traitor. First appearing on-screen in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, Barriss was the young Mirialan Padawan of another Mirialan, Jedi Master Luminara Unduli. With stark black tattoos across the bridge of her green-skinned nose, Barriss was hard to miss, even in the background of the Jedi delegation present in Chancellor Palpatine’s office. She was also on the ground during the initial Battle of Geonosis, wielding her blue lightsaber to protect the Republic alongside her master. But she did not enjoy the field of battle, preferr ..read more

Meredith Salenger, like the rest of us, has been waiting a decade to find out what became of Barriss Offee. “I was left wondering forever just like the fans!” Salenger tells StarWars.com. “Dave [Filoni] told me there were things to come for her, but he never said what.” The actor stood in a line that wrapped around the block when she went to see Star Wars: A New Hope in theaters with her father the first time and her affinity for the galaxy far, far away only grew when she was first cast to voice Barriss in the second season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. “Just being in the booth with Dave Filo ..read more

Inside the recording booth, Diana Lee Inosanto swapped her beskar spear for a pen. She wore comfortable clothes instead of one of Morgan Elsbeth’s costumes. The rest of the performance, however, was much the same. “It's still the same approach, the same commitment, the same breathing, the same physicality,” she tells StarWars.com. “Now, when I watch Pedro Pascal doing his behind-the-scenes [recordings, holding a pillow in place of Grogu,] I get it.” But the first time Dave Filoni suggested that Elsbeth might live on in animation, Inosanto thought it was a joke. They were in production for the ..read more
