I believe that the people at a wedding and the interactions between them are the most important things for me to capture with my camera. Of course, you will have spent countless hours in the months before thinking about all the little wedding details – rest assured I’m going to photograph them all as well.
I’ll find time to ensure that I have photos of the setting, the dress, shoes, decorations and everything else that I can see you have spent time and money preparing. I’m also going to be looking for the less obvious shots – little touches between people and guests taking in all t ..read more

My Favourite Barn Wedding Photos
Who doesn’t love a barn wedding? Full of rustic charm, space to breathe and invariably surrounded by beautiful countryside. What’s not to like?
Always a popular choice, a barn wedding gives couples all the amenities of a more traditional wedding venue. Somehow the more relaxed setting makes a wedding day seem less formal. Often the barn is a blank canvas which a bride and groom can dress to their own style or theme. And unlike a marquee wedding the weather, come rain or shine, isn’t such a big consideration for the day.
I’ve photographed weddings in all ki ..read more

This photo from Emma and Stuart’s Trinity College wedding was recently chosen as photo of the day over on the Wedding Community Blog
Like all of the Cambridge chapels, Trinity College chapel is a spectacular setting for a marriage ceremony. The vicar marrying Emma and Stuart was more than accommodating when I asked him for views on photography during the wedding. “Go anywhere you want, do whatever you like” he said!
I was able to shoot from the front for most of the ceremony which allowed me to capture Emma and Stuart’s expression and emotions with their guests providing the backdrop. Towar ..read more

I’d been looking forward to my first Hautbois Hall wedding for quite a while. Years in fact! For some reason I’ve not worked there before despite it being only 40 minutes from home. A friend recommended me to Eleanor and Matthew last year and they got in touch to give me my first opportunity.
I was welcomed by a friendly face when I arrived – the wedding coordinator Cheryl used to the work for another venue where I had shot several weddings long ago. She’s been at Hautbois Hall for a number of years now and has done a great job setting up the hall as a wedding venue.
Eleanor and Matthew we ..read more

A Cambridge college wedding at Trinity and Pembroke
A Cambridge college wedding is always quite an occasion! Not content with a single college Emma and Stuart took advantage of both Trinity and Pembroke colleges for their wedding day.
College weddings are usually only available for alumni – Stuart has been to Trinity and Emma was at Pembroke so they divided the day between the two sites. Emma got ready with the girls at Pembroke college, their ceremony was in the Trinity college chapel and we took advantage of the college grounds for some bride and groom portraits. Emma and Stuart bravely w ..read more

Ok, Polly and Steve’s wedding was the day after the summer solstice this year, but what’s a day amongst friends? Polly’s dad is a farmer and I was reliably informed he’s the guy to go to get an accurate outlook for the weather. He’d predicted a fine day and that’s what we got – beautiful sunshine, a light breeze and perfect wedding weather into the long summer night.
This commission was a little different to my normal wedding bookings. Polly’s uncle Tim had volunteered to photograph the first part of the day. So you’ll not see any preparation or ceremony photos from me. My brief was to ca ..read more

Winter wedding at Cley Windmill
20 degrees and wall to wall sunshine, perfect for a summer Cley windmill wedding day. But hang on, it’s not summer, it’s the end of February!
Tony had been in touch a couple of months before to talk about plans for photos if we were stuck inside on their wedding day. A reasonable concern for a February wedding you might think. It turned out they were lucky enough their wedding day fell in the heatwave at the start of 2019!
So I turned up for my first wedding of the year to find Helen, Tony and their guests outside enjoying the sunshine before the ceremony. B ..read more

Part Two – It’s all about them
Some feedback I hear often from my clients is how much they enjoy the photos I take of their wedding guests and families.
They tell me how it’s great to see behind the scenes at their own wedding. It’s fun for them to look back through all the parts of their wedding day that most of the time they were not even aware were happening.
As a bride and groom your attention is often taken up with trying to ensure that you speak to as many guests as you can. But of course the rest of your wedding guests are busy enjoying themselves in the background. On a wedding day ..read more
