Last month I wrote about the word “should”, and how you should not use it when it comes to determining what your next steps are when working towards your goals. It can be scary to talk about possibilities, especially when you want to explore different options for your life. When a friend, family member, teacher, or someone else in your life suggests your next move. your lizard brain* begins to throw out all the possibilities about why that path may not work for you or all the things that could go wrong. Limiting words and phrases start to swim around your head like: I can’t… I’m not… I c ..read more

"Should"

When we were children, we were impulsive. If we wanted to a cookie from the jar, we would climb up to where they were stored and use our sticky little fingers to eat cookies until we felt sick. If the wall looked a little bare and needed sprucing up, we would grab our crayons and create art pieces, scribbling on the wall until they were taken away from us. Over time, through negative reinforcement or punishment, we learned what was acceptable and what we would get told off for. As we have grown up, we learned to ask ourselves, “should I do this or not?” before taking action. For the most part ..read more

March went by super slow and suddenly it’s May next week, where has time gone?! With Coronavirus taking over our lives, and social media telling us to do be productive every minute of every day, it’s hard not to feel like you’re behind. One thing that has been great? Reading. I’ve enjoyed discovering new titles and broadening my knowledge but I’m not setting myself a reading goal. Why? It gives your FOMO Should you read several books simultaneously? Are you missing out on exciting new releases? Should you take up speed reading? How is your friend already on her last book of her target number ..read more

Every year on 8th March, we celebrate womxn all around the world. This International Women’s Day is no different – the official website definition said it “is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.” One thing I want us to remember is that all womxn are not equal. International Women’s Day isn’t just about the inequality between men and women, it is also important to remember the inequality there are between women with differences too, such as ethnicity and cultures. You have just launched your business, or you are wondering why your existing account is getting enough engagement. Here's a little checklist to make sure you're on the right path. 1.  Talk to your customers It's about them not you. How often do you really speak to them and find out what they like and want? Stop making assumptions about them and actually ask them. 2. Using one channel really well Absolutely nail using the marketing channel that works best for you and stop spreading yourself too thin. "Do I need an Instagram account as well?" Is a question I often get asked. "Yes, you do ..read more

Is there someone you feel you may be attached to, be it an old friend, a platonic toxic relationship, a family member who continues to hurt you or someone you may  e romantically involved in, that you no longer wish to be aligned with? Find a quite place. Take a deep breath, and take another, then another. We cannot control how others treat us, or how they may make us feel. But we decided what grows and what goes. Say this aloud:  “Dear God/Universe/Spirit Guides, I call upon you to help me heal, let go, and cut any etheric cords that are no longer serving my higher purpose. I ask that all cor ..read more

We have all experienced relationships. It doesn’t mean a committed partner but a friend, a family member, anybody who you are close to is a person with whom you have a relationship with. There can be expectations we uphold when we engage with people are closest with, but what I’ve learned is that love is not an easy ride. Here is a list of 7 things love will teach you: 1. Expect nothing: Love is not self-seeking. It does not give to receive, it gives because giving makes you genuinely happy. When you have genuine love for someone, you can give without NEEDING/EXPECTING anything in return becau ..read more

Last month, I quit my job and decided that I wasn’t going to go back for working for someone else if it wasn’t in Marketing or PR.  Just because ‘everyone has a retail job while studying’ doesn’t mean I have to follow the same route. I made the decision to start on my career right now and make a serious start on my blogging and marketing journey. Is there something you’re putting off right now? You’re leaving it until later because that will be the “right time”? I’m telling you that the right time is most likely right now. SET A FIRM DEADLINE Give yourself a deadline for when you want to compl ..read more
