Pray for her. Lift her up. This is my third child and I’m amazed every time at the number of people who seem to wish you into negative experiences. Are they dealing with traumatic memories from their own children and trying to use you ..read more

Why Thomas WASN’T a doubter and why we should be like him
Christ-Centered Mama | Christian Motherhood Blog

Have you ever had doubts about your faith? Thomas is one of the most famous disciples and yet he had questions that he wanted answered. Because of this some have even labeled him “Doubting Thomas”. Was he in fact a doubter? There are three stories about Thomas from John’s Gospel that we should consider before we decide if he was in fact a doubter. The first is in John 11:5-16. Here all the disciples are afraid to let Jesus go back to Bethany to see His friend Lazarus. The danger in Bethany is real and Jesus could very easily be stoned to death. Yet, Thomas says to the other disciples, “Let us ..read more

A Christmas devotion for motherhood Christmas is one of my favorite times of year! I love the sights, sounds and peppermint smells of the season. But my most favorite part of this season is celebrating Christ and meditating on His birth story. Every time I read the Christmas passages of the Bible, I’m reminded just how miraculous his birth was. The best part of Jesus’ birth story? God chose motherhood.  “God chose motherhood to usher in the start of His ultimate rescue mission to save us all.” It is extraordinary for me to imagine that God called Mary to walk the same steps of motherhood ..read more

I will never forget the moment when I told my mom I wanted to be a missionary in the Middle East. I think I can still hear her scream of “WHAT?!” ringing in my ears! Now, my mom lovingly supports our lives here, but I definitely took her by surprise! I was fearless. Newly married to my also fearless husband, we hopped on a plane and moved to the Middle East where we spent two years fearlessly proclaiming the gospel in a country where Christians had been martyred for their faith, and the news of another bomb going off had become a regular, somewhat normal occurrence. We traveled to part ..read more
