This post was created in partnership with Bed Bath & Beyond. All opinions are my own. Promise.
Did you know that spending a total of just 2 hours a week outside can offer major health benefits? Both mentally and physically, we are just healthier versions of ourselves when we’re connected to nature. In fact, studies show that being outside can lower stress hormones and blood pressure, calm the nervous system and improve mood and immune function. I don’t know about you, but I’m down for all of that! In fact, I’m super passionate about designing homes that are as healthy as they are beautifu ..read more

“Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything beautiful, for beauty is God’s handwriting.”
– Ralph Waldo Emerson
I’ve always believed in the power of interior design to transform the quality of our lives. It’s why I do what I do. And yet, every time I transform a space in my own home I’m reminded of it so personally, so experientially, that my passion for the power of design is deepened and renewed.
This is especially true with our Healthy Master Bedroom Makeover. Seeing the combined focus of wellness and beauty come together to create a space that is healthy yet sophisticated; non ..read more

“The details are not the details, they make the design.”

There are many phases to any given design project, and I’m happy to say that 5 weeks into our Healthy Master Bedroom Makeover, we are past the messy middle and starting to get to the good stuff. This is where the vision for the space starts to come into focus and anxiety gives way to excitement. Well, mostly. There’s still much to be done and of course photos to be taken for the big reveal, but I’m getting excited for all of it and can’t wait to share the finished space with you soon!

Have you ever had one of those weeks where you feel like Friday is Thursday because it’s all just been such a blur? That’s me this week after returning from an incredible week at High Point. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll have seen some of the highlights on my Stories, but there’s honestly so much more I haven’t posted yet because the pace at Market is just so full-on. I led a Design Influencer’s tour on the Saturday for the loveliest group of designers; moderated a panel on Sunday with Barclay Butera, Julia Buckingham, Scot Meacham W ..read more

“I am going to make everything around me beautiful – that will be my life.”
Elsie DeWolfe
It’s a cliché at this point to tell you that the weeks are flying by, but nothing could be truer! Six weeks to a finished room is not for the faint of heart, friends. You know what else isn’t for the faint of heart? Wallpapering a ceiling.
We toyed with the idea of hiring an installer, but with the goal of being as cost efficient as possible, we just couldn’t justify it. “How hard could it be?” we thought.
Well, let’s just say there’s a reason I don’t have many photos of it going up to share with you ..read more

” God is in the details”
– Mies van der Rohe
MOULDING MAGIC
Architectural detail has long been one of my passions. When I was 10, I used to lay awake in my bed dreaming of the crown moulding, baseboard and panel moulding I would use to decorate my room. It was glorious, and something out of a Haussmann Paris apartment. Mind you, back then it would also have been painted shades of teal or high gloss red, but at least I had one thing right. My passion for paneling and finishing details never left me, and it’s one of my favourite ways to add strength of character to an otherwise basic spa ..read more

I cannot believe it’s been a year since I last posted. In some ways, the past 12 months have been a blur. In many ways, it’s been the hardest year of my life.
I had every intention of finishing this master bedroom makeover just a couple of months after pressing pause. When that didn’t happen, I thought I’d just jump into the Spring One Room Challenge. But I was fighting battles behind the scenes that only my closest and best knew about, and those battles haven’t followed my preferred timeline.
In my last post I shared about how I believe grief can heighten gratitude. I still believe ..read more
