The Baltimore Ravens and wide receiver Rashod Bateman have agreed to a three-year extension that will keep the former first-round pick in Baltimore through 2026. The deadline to pick up Bateman’s fifth-year option was on May 2nd, and all indications pointed to the Ravens not picking up the option, thus making Bateman a free-agent in 2025 prior to Wednesday’s extension. Baltimore Orioles’ outfielder Austin Hays was placed on the 10-day IL with a left calf strain on Monday. This made way for Heston Kjerstad to be called up from the AAA Norfolk Tides late Monday night. As Kjerstad is both a corner outfielder as well as a first baseman, he is a strong replacement for Hays.  Kjerstad made his major league debut on September 14th, 2023, where he played in 13 games and had 33 plate appearances with an average of .233 and an OPS of .748. He had two home runs and 3 RBIs. Kjerstad has dominated with the Tides so far this season, with a batting average of .349 and ..read more

It was a great week for the Orioles as they went 5-1, including a sweep of the Minnesota Twins at home before heading into Kansas City to steal two of three against an extremely competitive Royals team. With a week as good as this one, it may be hard to imagine anyone on the team struggling… Well, think again. The bullpen certainly gave fans a bit of a scare this week. We also saw the same characters struggle offensively. Lucky for the O’s, there was plenty of offense to go around as they put up at least 4 runs in every game and scored more than 7 runs in half of the games this week. Let’s tak ..read more

Washington also tried to sign their 8th overall pick Ryan Leonard to his contract to have him for the playoffs. The Capitals were looking into bringing in Ryan Leonard for the playoffs, however he ultimately decided to go back to school for his sophomore season. This is a good decision on his part as it will ..read more

The Orioles’ AA affiliate, the Bowie Baysox, knew how to start the weekend off right with a walkoff victory over the Altoona Curve on Friday night. The Baysox are in the middle of their six-game series against the Altoona Curve, AA affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates.  The back-and-forth contest stayed close for the first nine innings, which eventually led into extras as the Curve induced a 3-3 ballgame in the top of the ninth. Altoona managed to come up with another run through an infield single off the bat of Aaron Shackleford, which put the Curve up 4-3. Altoona had a win probability p ..read more
