It’s the first offical day of summer and the Styling You Annual Swimsuit Edition 2022 is here for you. This year we have 12 women giving you a pep talk; each wearing a swimsuit they’ve chosen because it’s a style that they feel confident in for their body and their summer lifestyle.
If you’re new here, since 2013 I’ve been stripping down to my bathers/cossies/togs and putting photos of me wearing them here in the Styling You Annual Swimsuit Edition and on social media. I’m just one woman; one body; one age; one set of body confidence issues, so a few years ago I roped in other women to join me ..read more

Not only did I get to meet Trinny Woodall on her recent trip to Australia and have her prescribe a skincare routine for me, below is a video of the products Trinny’s makeup artist John Corcoran used to to create my Trinny London makeup glow-up.
If you’ve landed on this post via a random Internet search, WELCOME. I’ve been a customer of Trinny London since 2018 and have written quite a few posts about the products I love and use on a regular basis. You can back track from this post.
Over the years, I’ve chosen and added to cart A LOT of Trinny London makeup products based on my Match2Me survey ..read more

Oh it’s been a while between peri and menopausal friendly skincare updates but I’ve got a good one for you: a Trinny London skincare routine that my skin is not only loving but thriving on. And I was prescribed the routine by Trinny herself. Yes, I still can’t quite believe that bit!
Before I get stuck in and share what the routine involves and what it was like to share a bathroom with this incredible powerhouse of a woman (yes, I got to not only meet Trinny but she touched my face. A LOT.), I’ll repeat what I’ve always been upfront about when it comes to my skin and the products I use.

Oh Fiji. You had me at the first Bula! It was a love affair I did not see coming, one of those sucker punch moments in life that takes your breath away but at the same time instantly calms you.
I’m going to be honest here, Fiji was not on my destination radar. I thought it was the stuff of young families’ or loved up honeymooners’ dreams. The former because there are so many resorts geared up to give both the kids and the parents a break; the latter because there are so many resorts that exclude kids altogether.
But then the pandemic happened. So many of us booked travel thinking it woul ..read more

Tears pricked my eyes, threatening to escape. I’d just watched Australian Fashion Week’s first ever Curve Edit show, where women in a range of everyday sizes, ages and colour walked in a show featuring size Australian labels which not only cater to women with curves, they celebrate them.
It’s been asked of me, why the need for a separate show? And I answer: why not? How absolutely bloody glorious to watch woman after woman come out owning the runway in a way they’ve never had a chance to before.
Yes, we should see a diverse range of body shapes in all shows and thankfully that was eviden ..read more

With the world and Australia opening up with fewer restrictions, travel is back on the schedule for so many. There is a huge back catalogue of “what to pack” blog posts HERE but when it comes down to it, below is my tried and true method for how to pack for a holiday to any destination.
I’ve put together a video that includes some of my tips, specific to what to pack for an Easter holiday at the beach in south-east Queensland. It’s how we’re spending Easter but according to Wotif.com, it’s also how many Australians are spending Easter this year.
What I’m packing is all about beach casual but w ..read more

Outfit confidence – and how to get it – is something I’m asked about A LOT. Over the past few weeks, I’ve got you organising your wardrobe and thinking about your style personalities but how do you bring that all together to create confidence in the outfits that you put on each day?
I’ve shared my tips in this week’s Lunchtime Live video. Spoiler alert: a lot of confidence comes down to how you feel as a person. Be kind on yourself and seek out professional help if by thinking through this you realise it’s something affecting you on a much deeper level.

One of the biggest things I see and hear from women who seem “lost” with their personal style is that they think they need to hone just one style and wear that one style EVERY day. As with most fashion rules, I call BS. It’s totally ok to have more than one style personality, in fact I endorse and encourage you to explore multiple style personalities. By doing so, you’re more likely to keep “playing” with fashion and less likely to find yourself feeling like you’re stuck in a rut.
Before going live with the below video, I put out the call to others to share their style personality or per ..read more

Looking for tips on how to make your wardrobe work for you regardless of its size? You’ve come to the right place.
Wardrobes – and what we put in them – is a topic don’t think we can re-visit this subject enough, do you? It’s so, so easy (no matter how disciplined or organised) for life to get in the way and overwhelm to take over.
I know myself that keeping my wardrobe space organised is something I constantly have to work at. Granted, my “job” is all about clothes so things can get overwhelming very quickly, but there are a number of red flags for me that tell me I need to take stock.

There is something about summer that has me doing a complete audit of my makeup kit in the quest to create a summer makeup look that stays on all day. I want it to be fresh, effortless and glowy and I don’t want to have to reapply everything because it’s slid off my face by mid-morning.
This look features products I’ve talked about before, including plenty of Trinny London products. You can play catch up with previous Trinny London makeup posts HERE.
It also includes other brands, things I’ve found by accident – by playing – or via recommendations I’ve checked out.
The key thing to note ..read more
