Falls Creek Alpine Resort wishes to advise the community that there will be the following road closures and changes to parking time limits for PEAKS CHALLENGE Falls Creek. This is to prevent congestion in the village, allowing emergency service access and safety at event locations.
Falls Creek Village:
The following village access arrangements will be in place from 8am Friday 8th March until 12pm Monday 11th March:

Bogong High Plains Road Temporary Closure
Please be advised that given the severe weather event that is forecast, Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) has made the decision to temporarily close the Bogong High Plains Road from 9pm Sunday 7th of January 2024. The road closure will be in place from Mt Beauty to Falls Creek, specifically from Cranky Charlie Corner to Howman's Gap.

Public Access from Mt Beauty to Open by April 25th!
Falls Creek is pleased to announce that the winter season will be business as usual with public access to the resort direct from Mt Beauty opening by 25th April 2023.
After what has been a tough summer, with a landslide cutting off the main access to Falls Creek Village via the Bogong High Plains Road in October, the team are excited to confirm that there will be single lane access well in time for the winter season and two lanes will be open by the peak season in late June.

You might have heard there has been a landslide on the road between Falls Creek and Mount Beauty, causing a whole lot of challenges for our community. We’ve put together this information to inform and update the larger community about how it’s all going.
What has happened?A landslide occurred on the Bogong High Plains Rd above Bogong Village in early October. The 35 000 cubic metre mass of earth above the road still remains loose and unstable and is continuing to slowly fall, making it unsafe for the road to be open. The landslide is being managed by the SES and the Department of Transport.
