Ok Listies, I’m going to be honest, since I’ve been home from my 100 days On The Go I’ve been a little more strapped for cash (I blame delicious cocktail menus in NY). So, I’ve rediscovered my kitchen and I’ve been playing with a few different recipes. It seems I need more help than first thought, so I’ve needed to get some extra help in the inspo department. Here are some that quick, supposedly easy to prepare and worldly recipes that might also help me save some pennies. And at the same time, here’s a bit of education on spices of the world. ?   Pan-Seared Salmon & Chermoula Sp ..read more

Having a healthy dose of caution when you’re travelling anywhere in the world is just smart travelling, but what about the places you choose to travel to that give you a heightened sense of worry. This happened to me a couple of times on my travels this year. The conversation came up when I was deciding whether or not to go to Colombia and to a lesser extent with my travels to Morocco.  There were things I read online, heard in second-hand stories and colourfully created in my own imagination. I had to really go through the motions to decide if it was a country I felt comfortable travelli ..read more

When you’re away from home for an extended period, whether it’s for pure fun or there’s some remote work built into your trip, at some point you’re going to need a break from your holiday. It’s ridiculously fun to be travelling or living in a foreign place. If you’re anything like me, you spend every second of the day running around trying to soak up everything you can. Sleep? Why? There’s more to see and do and eat and drink and people to meet and fun to be had. But the problem is that within this said fun being had I bet you’re not really sleeping, doing traditional exercise or eating any ki ..read more

When the mind finally catches up  For the first time in my life, I experienced the full force of jet lag. Exhausted, funny sleep schedules very random eating patterns, super high energy peaks at the wrong times and unexpected watery eyed lulls. How boring. If you’ve experienced it then I’m sure you can relate, but in all my years of travel, I’ve never had jet lag so it really threw me. I was also annoyed because I did the right things, drank heaps of water on the flight over, got some Vitamin D as soon as I arrived, didn’t sleep when I wasn’t meant to. But unfortunately, my body ha ..read more

How do you define an adventure?
On The List Melbourne | Melbourne Weekend Guide

How do you define an adventure? What is an adventure? Is it defined by the activities you do here or abroad, is it by the personal growth you achieve or is there another metric that defines an adventure for you. I think adventures are like success, whether it is achieved or not is determined by the way it’s defined. A few years back a dear friend and old teacher of mine invited me to speak to his drama students about the very different ‘media’ path I’ve taken. One eager mind, or was it cheeky, I’m not sure, asked me if I was a big successful person. It stopped me in my tracks because I ..read more
