GM For A Day:  The Lindy Part Deux Edition, or The Summer Of Love

This is a FanPost written by T. McGee. For better or worse, Kevyn Adams has pushed a lot of chips into the middle of the table for next season. His end-of-year press conference coupled with his new hire of old boss Lindy Ruff has put the focus squarely on him as GM and leader of the franchise. And being in that focus, he needs to produce. He’s going to have to be active… Source ..read more

Sorry for the delay, folks! Meant to get this one up sooner. The Rochester Americans took the first game of the series on Friday night with a 3-2 win over the Syracuse Crunch. Anton Wahlberg, Noah Ostlund and Isak Rosen scored for Rochester, while Devon Levi made 35 saves. The next game is Sunday afternoon in Rochester. It’s a best-of-five series. Source ..read more

Lindy Ruff was officially introduced as the new head coach of the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday afternoon. You can watch the full, 46-minute long press conference through Sabres.com, but in case you missed it, here’s a quick recap of some of the highlights. This was the first time we’ve publicly heard from Sabres owner Terry Pegula in a long time. Kevyn Adams spoke last week and said that… Source ..read more

The year is 2024, and Lindy Ruff is head coach of the Buffalo Sabres. Wait… what? Terry Pegula, Kevyn Adams & co. have chosen Lindy Ruff, the beloved former coach of the Sabres, to lead the team as we head toward the 2024-2025 season, as announced on Monday. While it’s been made clear that this is not a nostalgia hire, and that the team inherently believes in Ruff’s value now… Source ..read more

Additions and Subtractions the Sabres Should Make This Offseason

This is a FanPost written by Matt in Cleveland. This is not going to be your traditional GM For a Day/ Armchair GM post where an entire offseason gets mocked. But, heading into the offseason, once the Sabres find a new Head Coach, there are plenty of players who should be out the door, along with players who the team should bring in to help make this team tougher to play against. The Return of Ruff! Buffalo Sabres go back to go forward

Slightly balder, slightly greyer and now bespectacled. Lindy Ruff is back in Western New York, and not as some sort of Hockey VP as we had expected. Instead, the Buffalo Sabres announced this afternoon that the former coach was returning as the new head coach after being let go by the New Jersey Devils earlier this season. As broken earlier by Elliotte Friedman and Adam Benigni… Source ..read more

The Buffalo Sabres’ season may be over, but the AHL’s Rochester Americans are still alive and kicking. The Amerks have just a few games left in the regular season and, as of writing, are in a tie for first place. They’ve already progressed to the point of avoiding the play-in round, which is a good start as we get closer to the Calder Cup Playoffs. Use this post/thread as a place to discuss… Source ..read more

GM for a Day: Building from the Back

This is a FanPost written by BuffaloBuckeye. Yet another year of the drought, and this one was one of the worst, if not the worst. Great expectations were shattered by injuries, slow starts (both to individual games and the season as a whole), and atrocious assistant coaches. Now, with almost as many picks and prospects compiled as losses, it’s time for the Sabres to learn from their mistakes… Source ..read more

Buffalo Sabres Locker Cleanout Day Interviews

Usually this day comes with little fanfare, especially when it’s this early in the spring, because it means the Buffalo Sabres did not make the postseason. Fans tend to not be interested in what the players have to say, after all, we are not in the playoffs, so any number of excuses tend to feel exactly like that, excuses. However, with the somewhat shock news yesterday that the Sabres… Source ..read more
