I've been here a few days and about all I've seen caught is skates rays and small blues from piers and some trout on the sound side near pea Island lighthouse. I've been to the point in Buxton twice and even though there are probably hundreds of people there, I haven't seen a single person catch anything (they may have, but I haven't really kept an eye on everyone). Hi I’m Leo . New to this thread. With my neighborhood pond not really producing much fish lately I have been looking for spots to bike too . Good morning - So I'm looking for a pedal kayak; mainly for the couple of times a year we go to EI. The Old Town Sportsman 120 PDL is one I am considering (Hobie Outback the other). I'm just curious if anyone has fished the Neuse near Clayton and had any luck? I hear a lot about folks catching fish up near Milburnie Dam or down around Kinston but never hear much about the Clayton portion of the river. I've seen a few people fishing for catfish there but never LMB, shad, etc. I've put my kayak in there and fished a few times but never had any luck. My ten yr old son has gotten the itch for chasing blue cats, it's his first bout of being consumed with the thoughts of fishing. So being a good Dad, I want to encourage it.
