For the first time since April 6, the Blue Jays have scored more than five runs. Not just that, but they needed to score six runs, as they defeated the Kansas City Royals 6-5 to move to 15-15 for the season. It didn’t start off great for the Jays, as they went down 2-0 in the top of the first as Michael Massey grounded to Isiah Kiner-Falefa, and after review, the runner was deemed safe, thus continuing the inning and extending Kansas’ lead to two. But unlike many other games this season, the Blue Jays were able to tie it in the following half inning, as Justin Turner hit his first home run as ..read more

At the big league level, the first hit of your professional career can come in various forms. For rookie Addison Barger, his first big league knock took some time but eventually came through earlier this evening against the Kansas City Royals, as the Blue Jays drove in six runs for the first time in over three weeks to take the first game of the series against the Kansas City Royals. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Barger stepped into the batter’s box with Royals reliever Matt Sauer entering the game and taking over for southpaw Angel Zerpa. After battling to a 1-1 count, which included a b ..read more

“The Kansas City Royals broke the Toronto Blue Jays” is not a sentence I ever thought I would utter. Yet, here we are, a week after the Jays dropped three of four on the road in Kansas City, in what helped spark a franchise record 38-inning streak without holding a lead. Thankfully for the Jays, they were able to break out of that funk in the bottom of the second Sunday against the Dodgers, when a Daulton Varsho groundout sent Justin Turner home for a 1-0 lead. And now, the Jays welcome the Royals to Toronto for a three-game set in which they look to exact revenge. It kicks off tonight with Ya ..read more

MLB Notebook: Nike to address player uniforms after multiple complaints
BlueJaysNation
by Brett Holden

Nike finally fixing uniform debacle The new Nike/Fanatic uniforms have been awful. Players, fans, and the media have been nothing but critical of Nike’s adjustments, but now, Nike will officially fix the toy that was never broken.  Tiny numbers, see-through pants, and sopping jerseys have left a sour taste in the mouths of the people who have to wear the uniforms, and fans who pay good money to represent their favourite teams and players. It got so bad that the MLBPA received complaints about the changes. Well, those protests have been heard, and now changes will finally be made.  Th ..read more

It was a low-scoring day in the Blue Jays system on Sunday. For the fourth straight day, the Vancouver Canadians were rained out, but the three other affiliates were in action, with two teams picking up a win. Let’s dig in! Buffalo wins second straight This game only needed five innings, as the Buffalo Bisons defeated the Iowa Cubs 2-0 after it started raining. There were only five hits during the game, all singles, as Nathan Lukes, Damiano Palmegiani, Leo Jimenez, Max McDowell, and Steward Berroa all finished with one hit. Will Robertson accounted for three of Buffalo’s six walks and now has ..read more

The L.A. Dodgers arrived in Toronto this weekend and took two of three games from the Blue Jays. We talked about how Shohei Ohtani silenced the boo birds with a home run in his first at-bat of the series and how difficult it is for a pitcher to keep the Dodgers’ potent lineup at bay. We also talked about how Kevin Gausman was his ace-like self in Toronto’s only win of the series on Sunday. After that, we took a look around the American League East, which saw top prospect Jackson Holliday sent back down to Triple-A after a rough start with the Baltimore Orioles. Finally, we looked ahead to this ..read more

The Toronto Blue Jays will welcome a familiar foe, the Kansas City Royals, to Rogers Centre on Monday night to kick off a three-game series. Kansas City took three of four games from Toronto when the two teams clashed last week at Kauffman Stadium. The Royals held the Blue Jays to just 10 total runs over the course of the series that concluded last Thursday with a rain-shortened finale. The Blue Jays snapped a five-game slide with a 3-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday, while the Royals dropped two of three games to the Tigers in Detroit over the weekend. Kevin Gausman was back to his dominant self in win over Dodgers
BlueJaysNation

The Blue Jays pulled off a much-needed win on Sunday against the Los Angeles Dodgers as Kevin Gausman displayed avowed dominance in his afternoon outing. The Blue Jays walked into game day with some frustration and sombreness as they aimed to complete the dreadful series against the Dodgers. Toronto battled to snap a five-game losing streak in the finale of the home-turf meeting with Los Angeles. The fact of the matter is, there was nothing “Dodging” about the Dodgers in Toronto. Los Angeles put up a 16-spot in two games, versus the four-spot the Jays scraped the barrel for. Toronto’s offense ..read more

Blue Jays – Under-the-radar pitching prospects to keep an eye on after impressive starts to the season
BlueJaysNation
by Tyson Shushkewich

This season, the Toronto Blue Jays pitching prospects have been seeing more negative headlines than positive with one month almost in the books. Top prospects Ricky Tiedemann, Brandon Barriera, Kendry Rojas, and Landen Maroudis are all dealing with separate elbow/arm issues, with Tiedemann and Maroudis likely avoiding a long-term injury while Barriera’s news is a bit bleaker, with the southpaw reportedly destined for surgery that will keep him off the shelf for the rest of the year and potentially into next season as well. While these pitchers are dealing with their injuries, the Blue Jays hav ..read more
