Is This PND – One Year On
A Slice of my Life Wales | Wales Family Life Blog

In the early days of motherhood with baby number two I struggled. Massively. I was convinced that I was battling PND and I lost myself for quite a while. One year has passed, and I think I have it under control. Don’t get me wrong, I still struggle most days, but, for the most part, I feel like me again. These struggles seem like normal, motherhood struggles, not like before. Before it was different, it was darker. Now I know that if I’m having a bad day it’s okay. Now I understand that It’s okay to not be okay. I didn’t see a Doctor, I booked an appointment but a huge cyst appeared on my back ..read more

If They Were Princesses, Just For One Day {AD}

*Unpaid partnership with shopDisney – gifted costumes and accessories. All thoughts and opinions are my own* If they were Princesses for just one day Aria would take to the sea where she would swim and play all day. She would make fishy friends and hunt for gadgets, gizmos, whosits, whatsits and thingamabobs a plenty. Of course, she would still pop up to the sun to see her humans, despite the fact that some of her friends would rather she didn’t (yes Sebastian, I’m talking about you!). The good news is that where ever she goes, sea or earth, we needn’t worry. She has informed me that she has h ..read more

Now that you’ve started reception I can’t help but feel anxious. You’re in full time school now, and that’s a pretty major thing. I’m not entirely sure why, but the lunches worry me the most. I think of you in the big hall, nervously waiting for your food and I wish that I could be there to hold your hand. I could send you in with a packed lunch so I know that you’ve got things that you will enjoy, and I can see exactly what you’ve eaten; but this journey is about trying new things, discovering new things and stepping outside of comfort zones, both yours and mine.  I hate that I don’t kno ..read more

Collect Kit for Your Kids School with Aldi {AD}

{Paid partnership with Aldi} As parents we try our best to instil healthy habits into our children, but personally, I struggle to keep my daughter interested. I’m not ashamed to admit that I heavily rely on her school to back me up when it comes to teaching her all about adapting a health lifestyle. Thankfully her school are a health conscious school. They provide fruit for the children to snack on, the school meals are well balanced and they have regular, fun sports sessions where they jump up and down like different animals, burn off a load of energy and have a good old giggle. I love that t ..read more

One Year of Breastfeeding
A Slice of my Life Wales | Wales Family Life Blog

In the beginning breastfeeding was easy. She latched on straight away, she didn’t fall asleep like her sister did. She was gaining weight. There was no pain. I couldn’t believe how easy it was this time around. It was amazing. Then came feeding in public and the fear and stress. It took me quite a while to get over that hurdle. If I was feeling particularly nervous and/or organised I would pump before leaving and take a bottle out. But I got there. A few months in and I no longer sat in quiet corners to feed, I soon realised that with layers no one could see anything. I would feed where and wh ..read more

This is a paid post in partnership with Coral Island Blackpool. We recently took a trip to my happy place, Blackpool. This was only my fourth visit, and each time I’ve fallen in love a little bit more. I visited as a teenager on a friend’s family holiday, as a group of girls for some drunken fun, as a family of three with a small baby, and now as a family of four with a four year old and a baby. It has never disappointed, there is always so much to do to suit everyone. We spent a huge chunk of this visit in Coral Island, Blackpool’s largest free admission family attraction. We knew that Coral ..read more
