Need help with artificial fading

I’ve been trying to replicate the pair on the right for a while now, I love the fading but the fit isn’t for me. I posted a few weeks ago asking how I could achieve some of the fades and was recommended hand sanding, unfortunately I’ve tried this two times now on jeans of varying washes and the fades never seem to show up as prominently as on the pair to the right. These are completely different washes but I expected the denim to lighten up a lot more after how heavily I was sanding it. Is there any other enhancements the factory is using that I’m missing when trying to fade them? (For refere ..read more

Everything looks legit on them but the Winner printed care "tag" says "for over 140 years", which would've been from 2013 submitted by /u/throwoutbdq [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello! I purchase a pair of jeans and once I got home and remove the stickers, I realize that there are some residue or fade mark from the stickers. Does anyone know how I could fix this? It doesn’t look too terrible but once I put it on, you can definitely. Thank you! submitted by /u/Major_Computer4138 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I unhemmed the bottom of a pair of jeans and now there’s a white line. Is there any way I could match the colour of the rest of the jeans so the white line isn’t so noticeable? submitted by /u/fn342622 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

These run a little big so I plan to use the hot tub method to downsize them. I don’t know how well it’ll work on balloon pants. Raw denim balloon pants. submitted by /u/dopimin [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Japanese Selvedge Denim fabric feels itchy

The Japanese selvedge fabric I recently bought felt really itchy so when I had a closer look, it seemed like tiny pieces of wood are stuck to the weft. This is pretty consistent throughout the whole fabric. Anyone who knows how to deal with these? submitted by /u/Complex_Persimmon358 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I got a cool pair of flares at an antique shop, but they're fairly stretchy. I don't know the exact oz of the denim but it's on the lighter side. Can I wax them? submitted by /u/5aco [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Confused: Levi-Strauss tag off by 4 inches

I have a pair of Levi-Strauss 511's (bought used in Europe if that matters) whose leather tag says W29. That should mean a 29 inch waist, right? I finally got around to measuring, and the waist is not even close to a 29-- it is, in fact, a 33 inch (I cannot figure out how to upload photos, but it is accurate; I have measured on-body and off). Is this a European thing? (I am definitely measuring in inches, not in cm and then translating). Is it something specifically weird about the 511's? Or is something else going on? I'm just trying to understand what size I actually wear. submitted by /u ..read more
